Hi! My name is Amber and I'm 16. I am a very busy person but hope to lose weight. Do exercises such as crunches and leg lifts tone your body (or do they just build muscle under fat?)?. I'm about 5'9" 165 and I have alot of muscle from martial arts and basketball but hope to lose about 20 pounds. I teach martial arts 3 days a week(average days work one and a half hours), Take martial arts classes 4 times a week (avergae class an hour and fifteen minutes), and play basketball on Saturdays (for about an hour). I dont have much more time to do other things (I'm in almost all honors classes... im in orchestra and band.. im in two clubs.. ).. But I could work in hour classes of kickboxing 3 times a week (or up to 6 depending on how much time I have). I have a treadmill at my house but its broken... Do you think I should try kickboxing? How many crunches/leg lifts per day would bring maximum results? I eat a pretty balanced diet (breakfast- cereal lunch- sandwich chips and water dinner- home made food (like pasta chicken and salad or a roast or whatever) and a diet soda or juice.... with a few snacks ). I want to be in shape for basketball season (in about 2-3 months) and i want to look good for prom (10 months). I'm not trying to be stick thin, I'm trying to be toned and fit. Thanks.
