RE: House Work

Question Posted Thursday July 1 2004, 11:28 am

You hit the button right on the nose. She is incredibly picky about how she wants things done. It took her a few months before she even let me do the dishes! She doesn't let me vacuum at all, because I'll do a "half-ass" job at it, even though she's never given me the chance to prove myself. The things that really made me mad was the name calling. She even talks to her mom about my "lack of initiative." I've told her that if she just asked and was nicer about me helping more then I'd be much more inclined to; insults motivate me to do even less around here. She doesn't seem to agree with that though. Thanks for listening, I guess I just needed someone to vent too since we're stationed in Turkey and all my friends/family are in the states. Any additional advice? Thank you!

You just keep your head straight and demand the respect you deserve as a hard working husband. I think at this point the housework isn't the main problem it lack of communication and respect.

You need to talk more with each other about what each of you expect, like I said when your dealing with two sexes your dealing with two outcomes in thinking.

Bottom line..good feelings toward each other equal respect which equals better communication which equals nothing left to guess in a relationship.

Wishing you lots of luck and respect
