How serious Is the rash I get from drinking

Question Posted Tuesday March 2 2004, 9:05 am

I am getting increasingly concerned with a rash that I sometimes get from drinking, I have a drinking problem that I am working though with fairly intensive therapy but at the moment I still drink quite a alot (4-12 pints a day) I have been drinking a fair amount since about 13, I am now 24. I suppose this Is an excuse but I have had a pretty rocky life so far and recent events have caused me to drink more and on occasions binge.

I have started getting a blotchy reddening to my face that spreads down my neck, back and arms accompanied with with mild astma and a sleepy, ill feeling. These syptoms last for about 3 hours then go.

I used to get this maybe once a month but now up to twice a week, I originally thought I must be allegic to an ingredience but it seems to happen whatever I drink and today happened even though I have not been drinking.

I know not drinking is the answer and I really am working on that. But I wondered if anyone had any Idea of whether It indicated anything like Liver damage, or blood pressure and how much damage I have done to myself?

I guess it depends what you've been drinking as to wether you are allergic to somthing in to alchohol, some people are allergic to the alchohol itself! I think you need to get yourself down to a doctor, as its highly possible its liver damage. The doctor will also be able to get you help to stop drinking, as It sounds like it could be nessisary. *hug* good luck :)
