how to handle ex-wife and child

Question Posted Wednesday January 7 2004, 11:36 am

I am in love with a man who has been divorced for 2 years. He has told me he loves me and even asked me to marry him informally. Now, however his daughter refuses to see him because of me. She will not visit him on the weekends, etc. as long as he has a girlfriend. His daughter is 10 years old. She has never met me and if she came over to stay on the weekend I would leave them alone. If she doesn't want to meet me for now that's fine but I think he feels that he has to choose between her and me. What should I do?

what i think u should do is ask her y she doesnt like is cause ur just her dads g/f and she doesnt think that he could be over his x-wife. i think that u should sit down with her and try to figur out y she desnt like u b-cause i remember the age of ten when i meet some one knew i didnt like them i acted like i hateed them till they finally asked me y i didnt like them. i think that may be the only reason she doesnt like u is b-cause she doesnt know u to kno if she likes u so she just says that she hates u.
