formal dress 14/f

Question Posted Tuesday November 29 2005, 8:26 pm

there is a dance coming up at my school. i am against going but i may go with the girls. it is "semiformal" and i HATE wearing dresses and/or heels. i am really conservative so i don't want to show clevage or the dress be too tight or short. does anyone have any suggestions where i should get something to wear or what type of dress or skirt i should wear. can someone give me a good outfit with a skirt?? the dance is january 28. i will not be dancing so that may affect it. would a knee length black skirt and black boots (up to my knee) be ok? i kinda have my own fashion style. can someone please help?? my crush (who is a year younger) will be there so guys - what would you want to see a girl in at a dance (just something to catch his eye)?? thanks in advance...i'll rate high! :):)

umm no guys like prudes. conservative, prude, same thing. you remind me of my 87 year old grandma. you, my dear, are a prude. you are probably ugly too. sorry to burst your bubble babe, but knee length skirts are ugly enough, but with knee high boots? what? you will RUIN knee high boots. but dont worry. im a nice person. so ill help. wear a long black dress, that is OPEN in the back. do you know what that means? and you have to wear HEELS. they are your FRIEND. high black strappy heels. maybe you could actually look good...?

if you really want to look ugly and conservative, wear this:

but i doubt you can afford it.. it may be ugly, but its still marc jacobs...

and skirts..

if you don't like any of these, what i think you could do is pick out any dress you like (even if it shows cleavage) and wear a little shawl or a cute shrug to cover up. hope you like some of my ideas. = )

These are really fun to answer, lol. Okay Just go to the listed sites. These are ideas, but if you don't like them then I think a black skirt would be fine. =]

DRESSES: (If you want to try them)

SKIRTS: (With whatever shirt)

I dont know if these are your styles, but I hope I helped!

BTW- You don't HAVE to wear heels to have fancy shoes. You could wear those new ballet type shoes, as my school they are starting a new trend. Good Luck!

I think like a cute sweater and tea length skirt with flats would be cute. Kinda boho. Don't plan to not dance. You may change your mind once you actually get there. Guys pretty much want to see you looking confident, in something that does show some cleavage and skin, but don't dress to please them.

Wearing, knee length skirt and knee high boots mean you will be showing no skin at all, which I guess is your point but come on, guys like to see a littel skin, you know just some leg at least. Wear a small heel, I know you hate them but guys generally like girls in heels, heels give a girl a certain posture and appeal. If you wan the guy to notice you wear your black knee length skirt, I would recommend a pencil skirt, and a low black heel. Almost any blouse would work, I suggest maybe red.
