My mom wants me to be a total conformist and I flat-out refuse, but she yells at me because I don't wear make-up or spend years on my hair or dumb myself down for boys. Then she yells at me for not doing my schoolwork and stuff that just contradicts everything she said 5 minutes ago she wants me to do. I usually have really good control over my temper but she simply will not allow me to remain calm when we argue, so I yell at her (she's the only person I've ever had to yell at in my entire life) and she smacks me! Do you see a way out of my predicament, because I don't. 15/f

Ever tried working a compromise? Though I'm not asking you become a prostitute librarian or anything like that, I mean, a little make is okay and school work is important for anyone's future. Maybe you can try to work it out with your mom, instead of trying to be the complete opposite of what she wants.
Now I still want you to be you, and that seems to be a smart person, but you have to see to it that no matter what your going to conform to something, even if its not what your mom wants. You really only have three choices that I can come up with, and I usually have a lot more to offer.
You can:
1] conform
2] still flat-out refuse
3] find a way between
