my too promps are
1. was George justified in killing lennie
2. Do ior dont i suport either mercy killing or capital punishment
we have been given 5 days in class to write not cards and get quotes from unrelated sources and im so confused
i believe we have to have 3 "suports" for each topic and atleast 10 quotes total in the paper
(both promps are each a paragraph plus 2 other paragraphs atleast)

If you want a website for help, you can go to www.sparknotes.com and you type in of mice and men. In my opinion georges actions of killing lennie were justified because think about it, lennie was going to be killed by the other men. George rather have him kill him because he is his friend. Think about what Candy did, he didnt kill his dog, but he regretted it because later on he said I rather have killed him myself...or something like that. Anyways, that website really helps!

Hello,
Well, I'm just wondering what I can do for my hair. Its black, I have bangs, and it reaches to an inch and a half from my chin. Any new hairstyle will due because I usually just curl the ends slightly inward.
Another problem is that whenever I blowdry my hair or even if I don't it get all poofy and fizzy- unless I tied it back, but my hair will curl outward.. My mother is usually the one who decides my hairstlye/type of haircut and its usually just cut straight. A hairtyle that is really that time consuming during the morning is fine because I usually take a shower then.
I want to avoid using hairspray, gel, or anything like that. I'll make exceptions if the products are good but not that expensive. Oh, and I'm using Tresseme (sp?) and no conditioner. Any ideas? Cuz I don't have much of a sense of style... (link)

Hey! You should start by using conditioner a little more often, but you dont have to all the time. You can take a small clip and clip back the top part of your hair, that's wat my friend did when she got her hair cut about the same length of yours. If you want the frizz to go away you can use defriz sprays or shapoos/conditioner. You can also try straightening your hair sometimes...but dont do it that often, cause its really bad for your hair. Hope I helped!

Dont feel like no one will beleive you, because they will. Tell your parents or a gaurdian, or adult you trust because they will take it into the law and give the man that did this to you what he deserves. This has to be taken into someones hands who can help. Tell someone immediatly. They will beleive you.

(link)

Well where are you going first of all?? If you're going out somewhere like the movies dress casual...nice jeans and a cute top. I think that;s really all you need to where cause if you're going somewhere fancy you should wear something fancy...not a dress...but a nice skirt and i really pretty top! If it's casual then be casual because you don't want to overdress just to hang out.

im freaking out here! Prom's only a few months away and i still don't have a date:( I really want one because its prom you know, and i really want to take a date with me, but the thing is i don't know anybody to take. My social life has been put on hold because of school anf homework so basically the only place i see anyone is at work. I know a guy but we talk a bit here and there (i really like him to, but hes 2 years younger) should i ask him, or if not what should i do for a date?Thanx (link)

Everyone is always worried about that. If you really like that guy who is 2 yrs younger than you, try talking to him and ask him out. Talk to him more, and show him all the good qualitites about you. If it ends up that at the end you don't have a date, that's fine, go with a friend. You don't have to have a date to enjoy prom. Or, go with a guy friend of yours who doesn't have a date either...but stick to the goal of getting the guy you really like. Talk to him more, maybe invite him over sometime. Then bring up the topic a couple of times. Hope I helped....have fun at prom!!

To make a long story short, I used to drink, a lot. Well after a friend passed away from a drunk driving car wreck, I tried not to, but I still did. Finally, I was able to give up alcohol. Since Thanksgiving I've had not even enough alcohol to fill up a wine glass. I'm proud of myself, especially since I'm 15. The bad thing is, I've started to cut my wrists again. You see, drinking took my mind off my problems, and I know it didn't solve anything, because not only were my problems still there, but I had a headach to go along with them. To try to stop myself from driniking, every time I wanted to have some kind of alcoholic beverage, I'd write a poem instead. It helped at first, it kept my mind of the cravings. But then the cravings just got worse. So I turned back to my old ways of cutting my wrists. I really want to stop, but I don't know any other way to just get out my feelings. Well, I do, it's just that when you're so frustrated, or upset, it's hard to think straight so you do the first thing that comes to mind. It's kind of hard to explain. And I would prefer not being told to talk to anybody, because I have, and I don't just mean talking to friends, I've talked to responsible adults too. After talking, I stop what I'm doing for a little bit, but after a week, or a month, or even two-three months, the stress gets so overwhelming that I start up again, and it's just not something I want to be doing. I know I want to change, it's just hard.
Any advice is appreciated. (link)

Well, you obviously need stress manegment, because these things are overwhelming you. To try to stop your wrist cutting, do something different, like take a punching bag or something. You're overwhelmed by stress, at school or something and try to manage it better. Whenever you get a craving, tell one of your friends first so they can watch you. If your friends are the problem or part of it, tell someone who doesnt drink that you trust to help you. If your problems are in school, talk to a teacher or guidance counseler and try to keep everything organized, like buying a planner. If your stress is at home, like parents bothering you, what I do is that when my parents bother me, I agree with what they say, and then write about it, in a journal, or make a poem out of it like you said. You can also take stress out in sports a lot, running really feels like you are destroying your problems, and there will no longer be there. Hope I helped you!

Ok, this may sound wierd but...I don't love my family. Yea...it's true. I find it so hard to realate and connect with them. We rarely communicate outside of yelling and complaining. I do want a family that I can come home to every day and feel comfortable with but...I don't think they're going to change. How do I make us closer? (13/f) (link)
|
Wow...I can feel the same way for so many reasons. That happens to me a lot, and it's really hard to deal! I know! You should really talk to one of your family members...one of them that you are relativly close with...you actually dont have to be that close, but maybe someone who you think feels the same way. Or, if one of your relatives who you are close with is available you can defenitly talk to them. The point is you really have to talk to a family member. Try to make things right, even if other people aren't. I really hope I helped...
Have a happy...
