Shampoo bases can be found at your local beauty supply store, or online. And most of the herbs and ingredients used in these recipes can be found at your local grocer/farmers market.

its so fucking annoying. this entire year so far i've probably missed the bus about 15 times. and now my mom is fed up with driving me to school (my dad used to do it but he leaves for work very early now) so she makes me stay home. this is the 2nd time i have to stay home.. idk im so fucking disorganized with everything. after tidying my room (which will take me like 1-3 days to do.. cuz i get distracted) it just gets messy during the week and then i go through the same brutal weekend ritual of cleaning it and then it just gets messy later. i dunno why my mom obsesses over that. i wanna clean it when i want to. but honestly i dont give a damn what it looks like unless visitors or something are there. i can find things in the mess too. nothings wrong with it being neat but its hard to maintain it. same with the bus.. well not really but all the time it happens.. this is the 2nd time this week iv'e missed it and im so mad because today was hat day and i had this cute had i wanted to wear. ive done everything else.. i took a shortcut to a diff bus stop in a diff neighborhood twice when i missed my regular one till my bus driver told me not to do that anymore or she'll like call the police or something. once i went with my aunt and lied my mom wasnt home because i knew she'd make me stay home all day. i got in alot of trouble for that.. and another time i went with my friend's nanny who i hardly knew.. i knew i could have gotten murdered but she doesnt seem the type and she's seen me go to school with her well the girl she babysits since like elementary school (im a 7th grade now. a girl by the way). but if i told my parents they'd kill me. not that i'd do that again. but seriously.. i've done everything.. i even considered walking like.. 5 miles to get to my school... or ride my bike.. even though it goes through like a highway and like a woody area and like 2 train tracks. i even considered going on the 5th and 6th graders bus but then i thought that i may not be able to do that either. this reaaaaally sucks. and now my mom wants me to clean my room.. maybe she'll drop me at school then? probably not. IM SO FUCKING ANNOYED. I dont even usually curse but now i feel like cursing every second. its already 11am and school started at 9. and the school called and asked where i was or something and i said i was absent cause i missed the bus and nobody would drop me. i didnt add the fact that my mom was home and she also had a car. well she isnt home now. shes out. im not even supposed to be online or watch tv or listen to the radio. just clean my room. im about to wash my clothes.. but seriously how can i fix all of this? im extremely extremely pissed off. Your mother should be responsible enough to either make sure you get to the bus stop on time or take you to school in the event that you miss the bus. It is her responsibility to make sure that you attend your classes and to make sure that you are not tardy. Yes, you're a young lady and some of the responsibility might should weigh on your shoulders, but that does not rid your mother of her actual motherly duties. When you miss the bus, your mother should HAVE to take you to school. Otherwise, I seriously doubt her concern for your education. A mothers laziness is no reason for someone to miss school. Yeah, she might be getting fed up with it, but she needs to talk with you about it and ya'll need to figure out a better plan. Such as a different time for waking up to ensure that you make it to your bus stop with time to spare. Or for her to make the effort just to take you to school. If you're only five miles from your school, she shouldn't have such an issue driving you, unless she's just irresponsible herself. She made a choice when she had children and she needs to uphold that choice.
I don't know if this is much of any kind of advice, but at least I hope I made you feel better.

You know when you go to drug stores and there's always a cosmetic lady? Can you ask her for advice on what to buy for anything or just the face? I'm thinking hair too and stuff..sunblock for your face? (link)
|
A cosmetic tech can give you advice on the right palletes to buy and they can point you in the right direction when it comes to foundations that have SPF in them. Their expertise is your skin care, so they can give you advice on the right products to use for your type of skin. But, if you need advice on your hair care needs, you can just as easily walk into a salon and ask a hairdresser at no charge.

i just got my hair dyed yesterday. ( it was just a rinse, so it fades eventually )Also, My hair was cut to short and im looking for ways to grow it back. I read somewhere that you could wash your hair with peppermint or spearmint tea to promote hair growth. Will the peppermint/spearmint tea make my color fade even more than just washing it with shampoo? (link)
|
Actually the tea would promote the longevity of your dye. Shampoo has chemicals in it that strip your hair of unknown chemicals, such as dye. But, sadly, it won't cause your hair to grow any faster, but it might make it healthier. The sad truth is that nothing you can put in your hair will make it grow faster. Regular trims and massaging your scalp when washing will promote faster growth though.
Good luck.

ok well obvisouly when i straighten my hair it kills my hair really really bad. I've tried getting my hair relaxed (like a perm to get my hair straight. if that makes any sense) but that didn't work at all. So does anyone know a good kinda of shampoo that can actually repair hair i've tried pantene but that dosn't really work at all.
Thanks (link)
|
Well...the good news is that your straightening your hair did not kill it. Because it was already dead. That's why it's important to take care of your hair. Use a straightener with steam outlets, because it lets unused heat out instead of pushing it into your hair strand. And, when you do relaxers, if you're white, use a childs relaxer because an adult relaxer is too abrasive for white hair. Hot oil treatments can help massively, just make sure you focus on your tips, not your roots. Also, don't wash your hair everyday! It's not healthy for your mane! And make sure you're getting regular trims. When you get split ends and you don't take care of them (ie - trim), they WILL travel up the entire hair shaft causing a frizzy, poofy look that most people mistake for heat damage. Aussies three minute miracle is great for hair restoration, don't use it every day though. And start using Thermasilk (GREAT) at least every other time you wash your hair. It is healthy to switch out shampoos every once in a while because some shampoos get rid of your natural oils that keeps your hair healthy and some of them actually help to preserve those oils!
Good luck!

What brand of hair products would you say is the best? and from that brand, what would be the best shampoos, conditioners, sprays, etc. for naturally frizzy, wavy, curly, knotty, puffy hair?
and also, names of good hair dryers and hair straighteners/curlers would be appreciated! (link)
|
The best products you could use if you're not on a budget is Paul Mitchell. Paul Mitchell has an awesome line for your hair type, you just have to check it out! If you're on a budget, Aussie. Their volumizing line is great for people with curly and knotty, puffy hair. It silkens it without weighing it down, giving it a lot of volume that you would lose with other products. Any of their curling serums, creams, and mousses are great, as well as their 3 minute miracle conditioners (helps with the knots).
As for hair dryers and flat irons...Remington is a great brand. Always choose a hair dryer with a medium sized barrel, never long, just creates more work. Flat irons - always go ceramic or porcelean, tames frizzies and leaves your hair in better condition that before. The Wet 2 Straight from remington is a cheap, amazing straightener.
Good luck!

hey this other girl asked a similar question butttt not exactly the same so i was just wondering:
how do you straighten your hair and have volume at the end? like this is precisely what i'm looking for:
in the march issue of cosmogirl! with LC [ laguna beach ] on the cover, if you turn one or two pages, here's this girl advertising for DKNY jeans and she's wearing a denim mini and a yellow flower belt. (she might be in other magazines)
i really really want my hair to look like that! not curly, but just like that really natural not STICK straight hair kinda look.. any ideas?
btw- respond as many times as you like. i rate based on advice, not on how fast you respond. :] (link)
|
Okay, so, you don't want stick straight hair...you want volume but a do that's not frizzy. There are two ways you can do this!
You can blow-dry your hair as you normally do, I'd use a sleek cream, to fight against frizzies as well as a volumizing mousse, but only use it on your ends. After blowdrying, go plug in the family iron. The one you get wrinkles out of clothes with. Use a hand towel, folded to protect your hand with and place is over your hair on top. Take the iron and put it under and run along the length of your hair. A iron does not get as hot as a flat iron that you use on your hair, so it won't have the drastic straightening affects, so it'll let you keep some volume.
Also, you can use a curling iron. Put it on a medium setting and "straighten" your hair with it. It's round so it gives a lot of volume to your hair.
Butttttt...if you just want to use a flat iron and keep it silky straight: when you straighten your hair, start at your roots and as you start to pull the flat iron along, pull it up and down, rather than straight down, that adds height to your roots thus creating volume. I'd also invest in a volumizing spray for finishing. You just flip your head over and spray it in the roots, flip back and finger through.
A good way to keep volume for days is to take a loose scunchie, pull you hair ON TOP of your head. Not a little to the back, but on top of your head and sleep with it that way. IF you're hair gets really oily, use baby powder.
Hope I've helped, I might have rambled a little, but it's late :-)
Good luck!

Has anyone used any of the Dove/Pantene styling products for curls? Especially;
http://www.pantene.com/en_US/products/collection/curls/styling_milk.jsp
http://www.pantene.com/en_US/products/collection/curls/curls_shaper_anti_frizz.jsp (link)
|
Well, as a professional I would warn you not to use ANY Pantene product on your hair. All of their products have a certain type of wax that in the long run can ruin the shaft of your hair strand. Dove on the other hand is a great line of hair products, but...their curl line isn't on the upside. They tend to weigh down your hair and produce flat and ultimately frizzy looking curls. Their straightening cream works wonders! Anyways. Got2B is a wonderful product line that you could try. All of their curl line (sprays, creams, mousses, and sculpting glazes) work extremely well. I use their scultping spray on my clients. Just make sure that you spray it on damp hair and scrunch with your fingers, blow dry upside down, scrunching then finish off by spraying with your favorite hair spray. Most of the products can be bought at a WalMart super center or at your local Riteaid, Walgreens, or Eckerds.
Good luck!

im getting my hair styled and cut.
this is what i look like...
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k98/smichele427/l_d5367eec1ed8639ded5a74c405d7b9a7.jpg
i dont plan on dying it... just getting it restyled.
so what should i do?
i was thinking side bangs and layers?
(link)
|
Hair length is coveted, so I'd ask for graduated layers and to keep all your length. Beware that your hair will still have it's length in the back but it will be shorter in the front, around your face. Then ask for a bang to the opposite side of your part that blends in well with the layers.
Good luck :-)

What can my friends and I do for fun on weekends?
Movies and bowling get boring. What is there to do (for girls AND guys) if just a handful of us are hanging out at my house? We all get along and have a good time, but I just wanna make sure nobody gets bored....i know we could rent movies & do board games, but anything else? (link)
|
Well...a really fun thing to try is to get a jenga game...write on most of the blocks. Examples: one block put
crickey and whoever pulls that block has to use an aussie accent. another put gangsta and whoever pulls that block has to talk like a gangster. On one put Use ya mouth which means their next turn they'll have to use their hands halfway and their mouth the rest of the way to get the block out. Just be creative. And you could all try using different types of drinks and have blocks that say "Pour 2 or 4" and then get an empty cup and pour all the different types and whoever knocks over the tower has to drink the cup. It's a neat game that my friends and I use with Alcohol, but it can be a sober game as well.

Hi CourtneyGlynne,
I saw an answer you gave someone telling them about aussie Knot Forgotten. Well I have used it for about 4 years and they have quit using it. I was wondering if you knew of another detangler with similar results. I have tried a ton of other brands and have had no luck. The Knot Forgotten was awesome and now I have nothing to take out the tangles. (link)
|
Well, you can still buy it, mostly at discount stores that carry items that were damaged or misprinted. But, the next best thing I know of is to use Aussies Aussume Volume conditioner, it is much more concentrated that most conditioners because it is made for hair with volume and to create more volume. Or...you could try mixing your favorite conditioners because they are all the same except for a few ingredients. As always with conditioner concentrate on your tips, not your roots and make sure to use enough. Using just a dab won't do. :-) Hope I've helped...if I find something new, I'll edit!
|
sorry, wrong category i know. anyways, every time i get out of the shower, my hair is super tangley. i use shampoo and conditioner every time, and ive tried a bunch of different stuff. but it is always extremely knotted and stuff when i blow dry or comb it afterwards. it takes forever to get it dry and untangled. what should i do about this?! please and thanks :] (link)

There is a very cheap, very concentrated conditioner that Aussie makes. It's called Knot-Forgotten. It is VERY concentrated and eliminates ALL knots. And makes your hair really smooth and slick. It also repairs damaged cuticles and ends from having to detangle your hair with a brush or comb.
Also, rubbing your hair with a towel, otherwise known as traditional towel drying, frizzes your hair and makes more knots than what is called for. Try just grabbing the hair with the towel and running it down the shaft of the hair. Works better and is better for your hair!
Good luck!

What makes relaxed hair curly not nappy but curly and wavy, besides braiding it and then taking the braids out.??? (link)

You're hair is going to be tricky to get it curly and wavy without being nappy. Depending on the length of your hair you can use a small barrel curling iron at a low setting to curl. But, since you just had a relaxer, use a cream, hair food, or gel specifically made for your hair BEFORE applying the heat. When curling your hair, section is starting underneath at the bottom most layer of hair . After making a curl, tug on curl until it's lose and spray with a tightener spray.
Good luck!

so i have really really pretty hair. it's blonde with natural highlights on top and natural lowlights on bottum that are dirty blonde. It's great so now i was wondering what kind of hair style i should get because my hair is soooooo plain. I can make it cute but its hard cus its sooo thick. so what should i do about it? oh, and it's length is right above my boob. lol. so how should i cut it? i don't wanna color it at all though and i already have naturaly wavy hair so no perm. would short cute layers make it awsome or make it seem too thin? If you want a different style and all your length, ask for graduated layers. It will make your hair look thinner, but not too thin, as layers tend to give volume and take away poof. I'd advise you to search photo's in magazines and online and take one into you local hairstylist so they'll have a picture perfect idea of exactly how you want it because layers are hard to perfect on someone who isn't really sure what they're asking for :-)
Good luck!

Dreadlocks - my latest 'craving', you could say. There's this girl in my uni who has it and it looks amazing on her.
I was just wondering how it's done...I know someone who'll do it and stuff but I wanna know how. Also, will I be able to wash my hair? And after how long will it start to get all loose and weird? And are there any negative consequences (like the 1.5 million different fleas found in Bob Marley's hair)?...
I admit I'm a hygiene freak (must wash my hair before 24 hours are over between each wash)and I just want to make sure I won't do something I will regret.
Thanks for your time.

You can have dreadlocks and keep a clean scalp! There are things called Synthetic dreads that are just like regular hair extensions. Synthetic dreads come in all types of materials from snake pipe, real hair, plastic, etc, etc, etc. They are easy to put in and you can still wash your scalp without ruining the do. And, they also have Dread falls...that you put in over you're hair that has been tied up. Here are a few sites. I think think this would be a lot better than dreading your own hair seeing as if you do that and keep them for a long period they have to be cut out.

Contact me if you'd like to get synthetic dreads at a cheaper price. I have friends who make them :-)

i have kinda of curly frizzy hair and i straighen it everyday. Im going to florida in april and im not gunna have time to strighen my hair everytime i take a shower. is there antying, such as shampoo, conditioner, cream, spray, anything that would make my hair straight, if not just a little straight? also is there anything i can put in my hair when its wet that when it drys there would be pretty curls and not fizzy ones and can withstand the heat?
thanks (link)
|
Well...if you're washing your hair everytime you take a shower, you shouldn't. Washing your hair daily is not healthy for it. Shampoos and conditioners strip away and replace your hairs natural oils (WHICH KEEP IT HEALTHY), which man made elements that in the long run make your hair frizzy and split easier. You should only wash your hair once a week and usually straightening your hair with a good straightener once will keep for three days. If you hair starts to get oily and you still don't have time to wash it...take baby powder in your hands and work it through your roots and make sure to shake and brush it out well so that it won't leave your roots looking white. They also sell hair powers in a wide variety of colors (Paul Mitchell, John Frieda, and Aussie) that work the same wonders as baby powder, but baby powder is much cheaper. That's what I use and I'm a hairstylist and get my products at cost from the company, lol.
Good luck.

okay..
i'm having one of those
"don't know what song i'm thinking of" moments
& i'm going insane :]
this isn't much, but maybe someone'll know..
it's a country song, probably from a year or two ago & it's a guy
and he's talking about when his kids were younger and they'd fight over the bathroom & all that
and i think the last verse talks about when his last daughter is getting married
& idk if that's good enough
but maybe someone knows. haha, it's driving me crazy! :]
thankyou. (link)
|
I think you might be thinking of "Let them be Little" There are a few people who have done and redone this song over the last few years. Not sure if I'm right, but it's a good song either way.
|
Well everytime i'm getting fingered I always have to pee or something or something squirts out. it's really annoying. ah why does this happen to me? (link)
|
This is COMPLETELY normal. You're achieving something that grown women have been trying to do their whole life. This is the ultimate orgasm...don't hold back and don't get self concious about it because then you won't understand how it's supposed to affect you. Trust me, if a guy doesn't know about it, you need to explain it to him...then he'll known what to shoot for :-)

im super selfconscience of my face. i am not ugly, and i dont have pimples or acne. my skin tone is white? i get tan in summer and i have an oliveish skin color. my eyebrows are brown and i have natually light brown hair. i have freckles, also some faical hair. its even imbarrasing to ask a private question about. i have kinda of a unibrown when i was younger (really light though), but its not there anymore because ive had my eyebrows waxed once and i get my eyebrows stringed at times, also i tweeze them. i also haev a mustach. its not dark but you can see it. i hate when people get close to my face and i have to look at all the pictures of me so my mustach isnt obvious. i am not going to get it waxed or anything, but is there any home remedies or something i can do to lighten it or make it less noticable? please and thank you
ps. my sister put lemon juice in my hair before because she said it lightens your hair, could i use that? (link)
|
I have the same problem. I have naturally blonde hair, even my eyebrows and eyelashes are blonde, but I do have a problem with a small mustache. But instead of bleaching, which could have long term effects on the skin around your lips, just cut it. During your tweezing routine (you should have to do this when you tweeze your eyebrows) take cuticle scissors, the tiny scissors that the blade is curved...and cut it, it cuts it really fine and short and it's not time consuming at all!
Good luck!
Edit//No, it cuts it really close to the skin because these are really fine thin scissors.

Love is a funny thing. Sometimes it can take years to love someone, sometimes only months. It really depends on the person, how much time you spend with them, and whether you're able to differentiate between love, like, and lust. But...if you have to question yourself on whether you love him or it's too soon to be saying it to eachother...then it definantly is too soon.
Good luck!
