Q: Ok well Im getting my first car and I really really wanted a mustang and my parents said they would buy me one. But I got to thinking and I live in NY which equals a looot of snow and winter, and of course mustangs are pretty much useless in snow. So, now I'm thinking of getting an SUV. Does anyone know any cute, sporty, small, relatively cheap SUV's?

Or should I just stick with the Mustang?
Kia Sportage, I rented one when I was in Alaska in the winter and it was great in the snow. Also, plenty of room to haul around your friends and stuff.

thank you dr.aqeel from iraq
It is possible i am misunderstanging your terminology but it sounds like you have a cracked head gasket. If there is any watery bubbles when you check your oil than i would be positive. if not it might be the water pump, in either case it is very important to take this to a mechanic.

Q: this isn't a question, it's a request-but please don't delete it.
Can people please stop finishing every answer with "hope i helped" obviously you hope you helped, and whether you say that or not doesn't change whether you actually DID help. please, for everyones sake just answer the question!
try telling all those you know to not say "god bless you " when you sneeze. do they hope god will bless you, do they think saying it will make it happen, did it happen because they said it. who knows. but it is a polite thing to do just like saying that they hope they helped. i wouldnt advise you to try to tell people not to be polite mostly because it is not very polite.
hope you're confused.

Q: What amount of current should a starter normally draw (in warm weather conditions) and is it possible to measure it without a too costly an ammeter?
I presume probes would be attached to ground and the starter terminal.
What defect(s) in a starter would cause it to draw too much current?
aerovan or aerostar? the ammount of current a starter draws off of a battery will vary between 200 to 350 amps in ideal weather. the condition of the brushes against the fly wheel is what may cause this number to vary. if the brushes are worn or the flywheel is warped this can cause it too draw more current than is recommended but unless the starter is totally worn too much current should not be an issue.

as far as ammeters are concerned you would have to shop around, i would google it and see.

Q: I had changed my fuel filter in my 99 accura legand, and after I had done so, it doesnt go into reverse, or it doesnt shift gears. I was wondering if perhaps there may be a vaccume problem there or something of that sort?
not to be repetative but the fuel filter in not related to the transmission. if your car start up, idles, and you can press the gas and rev up the engine with it in park (or neutral for a stick) the fuel filter is just fine. if this is a stick shift and you are having problems shifting in and out of gears, try pumping the clutch. if pumping the clutch allows some minimal movement with shifting you probably have a leak in the clutch system. you can check this. there is a little resovoir under the hood next to where the brake fluid is. the is the cluctch slave cylinder. pop open the top. if it is not full poor a little dot 3 brake fluid in there to top it off. if you clutch immediately starts working you have a leak in you clutch system somewhere...good luck.

Q: I'm 14 just got my license I live in ND so we can get them earlier then most. anyway I need a car but i dont know what kind. i dont want a small cars like the ford focus or anything that smallwhat would be good? thanks
your a new driver...i would suggest a pick-up you inve in ND so i would reccomend 4 wheel drive. but mostly i would recomend something that fits in your budget. how much money you got? that more than anything is going to tell you what kind of vehicle you will end up driving

Q: Is it true that bird feces will ruin car paint?
Mystics right about the acidity of birdstuff but whether damage happens depends more on the condition of your cars paint. If you have a newer car with paint in good-excellent condition the bird stuff will have a hard time getting through the wax and or clear coat. But if your paint is several years old and starting to oxidize the bird stuff will eat into to it much as mystic says. if you drive a beater car with an old paint job the bird stuff wont discolor the paint anymore than the sun already has so you wont notice anything. your best bet is to clean it off within a few days(4) if you think your car falls into the middle category.
