My sister just let me know that our dog, who is really old (around 17) has been in pain and has been having trouble walking/balancing. The other night, she noticed he was crying and that he was lying on his stomach, on all legs (spread across the floor). She took him to the vet today, and he said that since our dog is old, he has pinched nerves and is in pain.. so he gave him an injection (not sure what) and took a blood test. He also has a prescription for steroids. We're going to see how he feels after a while.. if he is still in pain, we may have to put him to sleep.
Anyway, my question is: has anyone ever heard of this, and how common is it? Also, what are the chances that my dog (at his old age) will actually feel better with the meds? I have a feeling we may have to put him to sleep soon :( (link)

My dog is also aroud the same age and we also took him to the vet they gave us the meds for him and we didnt actualy see any difference for a couple of days but then he was walking normal and he didnt look in alot of pain we still have him and he has his good days and bad so i no what your going though its hard to watch him be in pain those days he isnt doing so good but dont worry the meds will help.
good luck
