Q: ok what is the best kind of pet for a starting out couple who just moved in together and are planning on getting married? my fiance works days and i do too. we get home typically him at 5 me at 3. and we leave in the mornings at like 6. we both love all kinds of animals, and want to get a pet to share our lives with since we are not ready for kids yet. what kind of pet would be the best pet to get. we are not allergic to anything and if you are just going to say "cat" or "dog" please specify a breed and why so that we can be educated about it before we make our desicion. thank you so much and i promise to rate every answer i get!

I'm sorry that I can't tell you a breed... but I think that a cat would be the best pet for you. Cats are low - mantenance and don't need attention 24/7, they can take care of themselves when you can't. However, if you are up for more of a challenge, you could settle with a dog - I have a beagle who sleeps all day until I get back from school, however if she can't get outside to do her buisness, she'll go on the carpet like any other dog. A dog would require a dog - door - which will require money and if you ever decide that the dog doesn't work for you, there'll be a hole in your door forever, whereas with a cat, you can crack a window large enough for them to slink through - this is what my friend does. Again, I'm sorry I couldn't give you a specific cat breed, but I hope that I helped!!!

Q: We have had our dog since I was young, for many years. I mean, like since I was 9 and now I'm 16. My mom used to work nightshift but now she works dayshift, and my dog cant handle her not being here. She's worked dayshift all summer but we were always home, and now that nobody is home during the day we put her in a cage. The problem is she gets out of the cage!! Even when we tied the cage with a rope!
My mom closes her bedroom door during the day because she doesnt want Hero out in the living room, but she ripped up my moms carpet at the door and pooped and peed in her bathroom. This is like the 3rd time she's done it...and now my parents are going to get rid of her!! I dont know what to do...I love my dog and I dont want to get rid of her...but my parents dont like her anymore...I dont know what to do!! Advice please!

I can totally relate - my dad is threatening to send my dog away because she has made a few accidents. I am really shy and I am completely scared of my dad, therefore I can't talk to him face - to - face on this manner. So, I wrote him a note and left it on the kitchen counter saying, "I just want you to know that Maisie is the most important thing in the world to me. If you follow through with this, it will take me years to get over it!" It seemed to loosen my dad up a little bit. One of every parent's main priority is to keep their children happy - they can't stand to see them depressed. I think that speaking to them face to face will have more effect than a note, and if you promise to think of a way to keep your lovable little pooch in control, then they won't hesitate to take back their threats!
Tip: You dog most likely relieves herself in the bathroom because she has no way of getting outside - if you have a backyard, try keeping her out there until you get back from school or your parents get back from work. Now that her scent is in the bathroom, head over to the pet store - they usually have products that get rid of scents like that which will kill the scent from even your dog's nostrils! Make sure you clean those spots really well. Also, dogs usually get very depressed in a cage and desperately try to get out. I'm sorry that I can't think of any other solutions! I hope that I helped!

If you're up to a challenge, you can get a breed of dog that doesn't bark too much, which means no pomeranians or chihuahuas. My dog is usually quiet and doesn't stink unless we give her a bath (WET DOG!!! RUN!!!). I have never owned a cat before, but I have heard that they are low-maintenance and are usually quiet. If you want the most interactive pet possible according to your parent's guidelines, I would go with the cat, because you can't expect your dog to be quiet all the time, while even if cats meow it isn't very loud. However, whatever pet you choose, I hope you have fun with it!

Q: Hey Everyone! Well in my town school has already started and I gate it w. a passion. lol. I'm trying to get my schedule re- done so I could take a couple of different electives because I hate mine. On top of my school problems my mom decided to bring home a huge brazzilion mastiff. (If ne of you have tht dof you know how big they get) Before my mom bought home this new dog I had a dog of my own- a miniature bishon frise. Now I feel like the new dog is trying to take the place of my other 1 and I HATE my new dog. I know it sounds mean but its true. I'm really stressed out about the new dog I have to live with and school in general. What are some things that I can do to relax and get all the stress out of my system?? Any help about the situation with my dogs would be really appreciated as well. Xo> Thnx in advance.

I have a dog as well, and I'm sure that I would be angry if this new dog came and tried to take the place of her. However, just remember that a dog doesn't think that way! Your new dog just wants attention. There is no shame in loving your first dog more, but this new dog is, in fact, a living animal that doesn't know any better, and deserves a little bit of affection every once in a while. When I first got my dog, she was hyper and demanded our attention, but after a few months she settled down and respected us. Give your new dog a little bit of time and I'm sure things will settle down!
