ohkay next year im going to be a freshman at highschool and im so worried. i know no one i moved here two years ago and i didnt make anyfriends with the 8th graders so i lucked out. and the boys situation is really bothering me. like its all about sex and making out and such,and i dont knwo if i m ready and it seems like if you are in a relationship then its pressured to so that kind of thing by everyone! and i guess this really started bothering me when i saw girls younger than me, like tlaking to the guys (and the guys where interested) to me it seems like i wouldnt be able to do that. im not one of those big flirts who hang all over guys. i have ppl ik that live further away who go got highschool (they are freshman) and they are telling me stories like how her a group of people went to a guys house and they were all hanging out until late. i mean it seems like its a big deal to me. my parents would have to know the parents and such, and im not willin got sneek out for that but i want to. i dont even know what im asking really, i just want to be able to hang out with poeple and not have such a hard time having a date and being pressured and crap. im really frantic about this. i would really like a boy to comment on how they are with girls. im jsut not ready for that...im scarred out of my mind. ik i muct sound stupid, but how did you deal with it.. the pressure of drinking and smoking adn drugs... yea sure now i can say i wont do it, but when it happens... i dont want to be one of those people you have to drive home, and i would hate for my parents to find out about it. alot of this is coming from what i wouldnt want my parents to see me like. i dont want to change, i dont think of myself as a goody goody by no means and it might sound like it but what am i suppose to do? please someone who is in highschool HELP and have experience (f/14)

and i was fine.
I was quite surprised, like you, when i found out that freshman were having sex, and doing drugs and just doing all that stuff
I was so surprised, and I made sure i didn't hang around in that crowd.
I know your worried that you don't want to do that stuff, or change, all you have to do is hang out with good friends, and stay out of the bad crowds.
Most of the guys don't pressure you either, some do... but you should know early in the relationship what kind of guy he is.
Like I said before, just don't get mixed up in the wrong crowd and you'll be fine
High School is fun, don't let any of that change that for you

I was an incoming freshman last year, and it was a new school, i knew nobody, and it was fine..
Honestly... you, like I did, are getting all hyped up about nothing bad.
Last year I thought freshman year was gonna be horrible, but it was good, and I think it's going to be the best year, besides being a senior
Oh! and a tip.... Just don't act all high and mighty in front of seniors... they think it's really annoying

this september, i'm going to be going into high school. i have a few questions. - you don't have to answer all of them; even if you can answer one, i'd be greatly appreciative.
1.) what's the FASTEST way to learn the map of my school? - besides getting a map & memorizing it
2.) how do i not become nervous the first few weeks when i'm getting accustomed? [like when i get lost, etc.]
3.) any tips on how to survive at least freshman year?

Okay......
1. you just have to keep going around and around the school... eventually it will stick in your mind and you should have no problem getting around. I was a freshman last year in a new school and i got so lost on the first day, but there were guides around the school, and by the time the week was over, I knew where everything was and no trouble getting around, so it just takes time, you will know it soon after you start.
2. Well... let's face it, you ARE going to get nervous, you can't stop that...... everyone is nervous going into a new high school, I definitely was.... but, when your getting used to the school, you meet friends and they help a whole lot. When i met my friends, my nervousness completely went away. Also when you get lost, just ask someone where it is you need to go, except i don't recommend asking a senior lol they can be pretty harsh. but don't worry, just don't act stuck up to them, and they'll leave you alone
3. Whew... Freshman year isn't bad.... at all. I was a incoming freshman last year.. i knew nothing about the school, knenw NO people and i turned out fine. What gets you through the year is friends. I don't know what i would have done if i didn't have them around during school. Another thing, is don't try to act all high and mighty, especially in front of seniors.... they will seriousy mess you up..... at least at my school they did. Just play it cool, meet somme friends and you will be FINE. Last year, i recall myself writing on advicenators asking how it is to be a frshman, and how i could survive.... and people gave me answers like ' OH IT'S GONNA BE FINE!!' etc. and i didn't believe them... but seriously IT WAS FINE!!! believe me, you will be fine, it is SO not as bad as some people make it sound to be
