hi...i'm 14 and i'm going to be a freshman this yr...so i used to go to public schools 2nd gr. and under, then inn 3rd gr.-8th i was in public school, but this year and all thru high school i'm going back to my old public school...does any1 have tips on how to meet new friends...I also wld love to be on Homecoming Court (sort of a popularity contest...)and my Freshman homeroom class is supposed to vote on who gets to be in it...how do I get these ppl to vote for me?
Hello. The best way to make friends is to put all your fears behind you... Think of your new year as a chance to do all of the things you wanted to do in your old school that you couldn't. You should make sure that you don't act shy, because that makes people less likely to approach you. Let people know about your interersts and your hopes to make new friends. Practice introducing yourself to people. When you meet someone new, make sure you let them know that you are interested in what they are interested in. And most importantly, make a terrific first impression. Be a polite and fun person. Show people that you want their company. When people see that you are an outgoing and polite person, they will want to be around you. Just make sure you aren't clingy or anything of the sort. Give people a good amount of space. Do not rush into friendships. Go at their pace. Happy schooling!

i have been in private school my whole life since pre-k now im going into eight and im a little worried because after this year im going to a public school im a little worried is private school all that differnt from public ps people at my school think im a misfit b/c i dont rly fit in with the whole private school thing so plz help
I used to go to a private school and had to switch to public school for middle school. I felt nervous and had questions as well. The only real difference is that when you go to public school, you get lots of attention because you used to be in private school. However, that will be useful in making friends. You will have to follow different rules, of course, but overall school is school, and it will be easy to adapt. Happy schooling!

Hello. I think you should stick with your commitment when you said you wouldn't talk to him but you can't stop seeing him and thinking of him because of what happened... You deffinately aren't obligated to forgive for the past years but you shouldn't like when people are talking because it's like you're letting him accomplish what he tried to do, which was make you embarrased and traumatized. Just try to avoid the subject when people bring it up, because you weren't the wrong one here, and you won't look like the goon, he will. Thank you for you're time.
