advice
i like this guy at school and we've kind of talked here and there, but i really like him alot but i dont know how he feels about me, should i go and talk to him or be clueless the rest of the year?
First, I believe you need to firmly establish what you want out of this guy. Do you want to like him and have him as yours, or do you want to like him thinking that he's safely and securely out of reach for you, making you safe? Establish what you want out/from this guy in a relationship form friendship, boyfriend, etc. However, from the way you sound, it sounds like you want a relationship with this guy. All I can tell you is that you will really be able to tell HOW MUCH you Really WANT this guy, if you were to tell him your feelings. Also, you'd suprisingly be able to learn a lot about yourself that you never knew yourself. If you're not intending to tell him how you feel, then it's a waste of time and setting yourself up to get hurt. You can never tell if someone likes you or not through casual talk or talk in general, trust me I was in your situation and I confronted my guy thinking his signs were positive, but he just wanted to be friends. Hopefully your charms are more powerful than mine. I still think you should go for it so you really know where you stand. Don't ever let the fear of rejection stop you, you see what you want, go get it, be a go gettah! Hope I was some help.
Well, here's the thing. I'm only a freshman, soon to be a sophmore, but I am really concerned about my scholastic career. At the moment, I have a 4.0 GPA( My average of my classes is a 98), and I am taking an advanced math class. Anyway, I would really like to graduate valedictorian my senior year. I have stiff competition-at least two people who could also be valedictorian. Does anyone have any tips for becoming valedictorian? What classes should I take next year? I would appreciate any advice, or any websites that would help me out. Thanks!
If you want to become valedictorian, then first you must find out the classes that you need to take. Some classes, according to whatever state you live in, rank higher than some others on the ranking scales for classes. Such as Honors, AP, and any other challenging courses that are high in rankings at your school. For instance, English II CP (College Prep) may only rank a 4 on the ranking scales for classes. However, English II Honors may rank a 5. So, of course, that would put you way over the top. To find out the ranking and status's of your classes at your school, I advise you to go talk to your guidance couselor. He/she should easily be able to clarify this for you.
Also, take courses that really are college approved. Technology courses, business courses, economic courses, etc. Take classes such as those because they sometimes put you over the top for validictorian and for colleges/universities as well.
You know that you'll have to study a lot to maintain the 4.0 GPA status b/c without it, you really won't have a good chance at becoming validictorian. You can never fully relax. You're going to have to be up on a lot of your studies. But, if it's what you want, then you have no problem. So, don't worry at all about that.
I'm 15. And pretty dumb..Not at the point where i'm retarded, but at the point where i have to go to summer school. I really want to get my permit over summer & go to this driving school, but I have summer school(I already found out I need to take it..). And everything is going to be hectic. Plus I'm about to get a job(i know right, a job at 15...but I got the hook ups =]). And I might keep that job over summer too. And i can't take the driving lessons when i'm still in the school year, because things are very busy with homework and stuff. I seriously don't know what to do. So this is what I was thinking. I asked my counsler at my school about summer school & asked if I can do independent study for the classes that I failed, but she said she WOULDN'T RECOMMEND it because kids do really bad. So this is what I was thinking:
Take independent study over summer & do my driving school and then go to my job. I know that my counsler said she wouldn't recommend it, but it's not like i'm those other students.
If you guys can help me out a bit on what I should do, and how I should do it, that'll mean alot.
Also, what do you do for independent study over summer? I've heard of the word & knew you do things on your own, but what exactly is it? What goes on & stuff?
Thanks a bunch.
IF you want to go through with it, go through with it. But you better keep up and get the help that you need. Get the work done then and there. You know how it is, and you know how very important it is. No one else besides yourself knows this so let that mean very much of significance to you. However, I recommend that you attend Summer School. Summer School is so much more important than getting your liscense. I say this b/c at my school, if you fail summer school, you simply stay back the entire grade. There are no independent studying over the summer. It really is serious plus we pay $200-400 dollars. But if you KNOW that you can do it and that you will be a 100%competent, then go for it. And good luck.
Is there any possible way someone can graduate early?
You can become a graduating junior by doubling up on your classes, and to do this you have to talk to whoever modifies classes and guides you on a good course. Basically, talk to someone at your school who's able to help you become one. You could also skip a grade by taking a test that the state or your school district offers then see if you can double up, but make sure you get all of your credits though that are required for your state. That really is important.
I've been having a lot of trouble this year concentrating, and my grades are definetly reflecting it. Everytime i sit down to do my homework, something distracts me so i go and do that first, or i call that person, or go talk to people online. I always feel like everything is more important then my schoool work but i know its not. I end up going to bed so late doing all these things i get distracted by. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me concentrate on my schoolwork and not all these other little things?
I suggest that you start reminding yourself constantly what really needs to be focused on. And that will be your school work. I suggest that you repeatedly drill yourself on how school is very important for your future. Also, you should really think about how not doing your school work can severly affect your future. Think about the consequences and let those be your motivation to really channeling your focus/concentration upon your school work. Also, remind yourself, that if your friends are true friends, that they'll always be there for you through thick and thin. And real friends wouldn't make you sacrifice something so important as your school life in order to go out on the town for a night, or to stay on the phone. No, friends wouldn't do that to one another. Because friends should understand what comes from, and if they don't understand, then good riddings. Also, remind yourself that with an education comes certain sacrifices. You just have to evaluate your priorities and realize those that are the most significant and those that can wait. I'm not saying that your friends aren't important, and I'm not saying to sacrifice your life for an education. I'm simply saying that some things will always be there, and some things won't. If you look at what's more important and what comes first, then focus upon that. It's all about recognizing and confirming your priorities. Find them and let them lead you to your motivation.
I wrote a question yesterday about being accused of something i didn't do.. Hope you guys remember that... Anyways, the principal just told me that I am suspended from the bus for 2 weeks and I have to clean all the stupid busses on Monday. I think that that is child abuse. He blamed me for something I didn't do. I only ripped a tiny bit of the window film.. Thats an unreasonable reason to suspend me. This other guy cut the seatbelts, ripped the air freshener and he's going to do the same thing as me. 2 weeks of suspension and community service.
He also called my parents about it. I'm already through with my mom, but now comes the hard part. My dad. I really don't know what to tell him..
What should I say to my dad and tell the principle it's a stupid reason to suspend me??
Try and tell your father the truth and keep eye contact because it is very important that you do.Tell him the simple true and express your feelings about this unjust punishment and ask him if he could challenge the principals decision. Just try and talk to him. Just try and try harder to make him believe you .
God. You really have no idea how many times I have been blamed for something I didn't do. Like 2 weeks ago someone (not me) cut the seatbelts on the bus and threw out the airfreshener. And there comes the vice principal looking for me and he told me that I did it. Which I obviously didn't. I have done things that made me get in trouble. I did that like 5 times. And yes I did bad stuff then. But that was in 6th grade. I'm now in 8th.
So, he was talking to me and telling me how I shouldn't of done that. And hes blaming me for everything. He doesn't care about my side of the story. I've tried talking to him but he wouldn't lissten. I told him he was a liar, because it's true. He didn't care.
How should I show him i've changed from being a bad @$$ to a good person?? I'm thinking about going to my councelor and telling her about it.
Well, first I think that you're doing the right thing when you say that you're going to your school counselor, and I know that you may disagree with me but I do think that you need to tell your parents before he tells them. If you don't tell your parents, your parents will find out and they'll more likely listen to him because you didn't confront them first about his false accusations. Just tell them the truth and that you really didn't do it. He probably believes that you did it because of your past actions and some people have a really hard time believing in the best of people when they have changed. You really must understand that people just have a hard time adjusting to change and yes it's stupid. Also, what you must understand and it's also what you know too, is that the councelors have absolutely no authority over the principal at your schoo. You could explain your case then you could ask her to try and persuade the principle of your innocence with her opinion of what you said to her. Keep trying no matter how many times he doesn't listen. Keep trying.
iv'e been staying up super late all summer. but now that school is coming colser and closer. i need to go back to my regular scedule. but when i tryed stuff like staying up super late or waking up super early, i just end up falling asleep. how can i go back to my regulere schudle.
please respond fast
i'll rate a 5 no matter what
It takes time to adjust to certain things. TIME. So gradually set a time and go for it. Sorry if I wasn't help but it actually takes time.
Hey, I'm doing a presentation on the Vietnam War [how it started, more like], and I thought I would read a poem about it out loud. I know there are a lot, but one of my friends says that there is one in particular thats very famous. So if you all could list the name and author of any poem about the Vietnam War that you know, it would help. A few ideas about what else I could include in my presentation for visuals would help, since a board with pictures on it is not recommended. Thank you.
I know not about the poems but I do know that you'd probably like to include how the war affected this country, it's citizens and the economy. Shouldn't be too hard to find on jeeves. Also you might want to find out the affect on the citizens of Vietnamese, and you probably want to find out something about the country that was a good, positive, and negative effect of the war. I hope I was some sort of help. Nice day
I currently attend a small private school and am going to a huge public school for high school. I'm really shy, and worried that I won't make any friends. Does anyone have any specific tips for friend-making without being annoyingly outgoing? Thanks!
1st of all be yourself .
2nd be cool by being you .
3rd don't stamar or stutter .
4th don't hold your head down when you're walking because they see this as a weakness .
5th look a person in the eye when they're talking to you . This shows strength .
6th Don't talk about anyone behind their back ( out of their presence ) because:
a) You will get into some sort of dispute maybe physical .
b) This shows them that you are real and that if you got something to say you say it to their face .
c) it shows that you are honest .
7th don't be too nice because they'll see this as a weakness and they will try to TRY(MESS) with you .
8th Give respect and ask for some . Somebody disrespect you, you put them in their place .
9th Don't be a slut or a whore . Don't be a bitch .
You can either be a stuck-up bitch or you could be just a bitch .
10th if someone tells you something don't tell someone else .
11th Don't let guys get too fresh with you because they can damage your reputation and you don't want a rep na dif you have one, it better be clean . REPUTATION IS ALMOST EVERYTHING . But just be you and be cool like you are .
im 16 in high school this year we had a new history teacher.im dislexic and he always picks on me about it and sends me out of every lesson since september.for reasons that are pathetic like asking questions too loudly.on friday he sent me out of the lesson within 3 minutes.i dont know what to do,i like the subject its interesting but im thinking of dropping it because of the teacher.what shall i do?shall i drop it?pleese reply asap
No way . DO NOT DROP THAT CLASS . Do forgive me but you need to talk to your principle/administrator/guidance counselor/parents. Someone . Tell them this :
One of a teachers job is to encourage students to learn, not to discourage them . This teacher has been discouraging me from getting a proper education , and I feel that this isn't right . I feel harrassed and persecuted, and I go to school to recieve neither feeling . I go to school to learn and if this continues, I'm afraid that I'll have to report him to school board .
DON'T BE AFRAID TO USE YOUR VIOCE'CAUSE YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK UP . ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES YOUR EDUCATION . SO SPEAK UP .
does anyone have any good ideas for a science fair project, me and my friend need some help!! SOON!!
thx
You could do one on which kind of ice melts faster such as , salt poured on ice, regular ice, and dry ice BUT DON'T TOUCH THE DRY ICE WITH BARE FINGERS BECAUSE, IT'LL BURN . I MEAN IT . I know I wasn't major help but you said " soon" and this is the most un cool thing I could find . I'll understand if you rate low . I hope I was some help . Well by .
Alright so in french today, a guy came in, handed my teacher a note and then my teacher gave it to me. in the note it said that they wanted me to join a club called "A World Of Differnce." Anyone know what the heck that is and if its anygood? i dunno they said it was about tollerence and stuff, but the note made no sence at all.
Well the base root for the word tolerance would probably mean , religous toleration( toleration of different religions ex. cathlics, christians, and Islam ). So that's what it may mean of a "A World of Difference" . You may discuss how to solve things between different ethnic groups . It'll probably bring up today's issue's between christians and muslims,vs. jews and e.t.c. . Hope I was some help . Have a nice day .
Okay ..i got a really bad grade on my spanish thingy .. i got an E and ive never gotten an E in my life. I mean i got grounded for a C and who knows what will happen with an E .. im too scared to show my mom so i thought about forging bcuz i've done it before but im afraid that like one day im gonna have a parent-teacher confrence and my teacher is gonna show her that and her be like i never signed that. i dont want the simple answer honesty is the key or whatever i want what yall would do! i rate really good =) please help me now!!!
I would tell my mother the truth because, forging is really terrible . You could get into a load of trouble, and I'm not just talking grounding . If you do get away with this forging, it's more likely that you'll have a guilty conscience . You'll feel terrible , but you'll get over it . EITHER WAY THE TRUTH IS EXPOSED IN THE END . It always comes beck to bite you in the .... That's just the way it is .
