If you ask a question and would rather your name not be revealed, you do not have to put your name at the end- just be aware of this. Any questions at all- all you have to do is ask! ♥

14/f
summer is coming up and i am going to be swimming ALOT. i got my period at the very end of last summer so i didnt have to worry about swimming. but now that this summer is getting closer i am considering tampons so i can swim whenever i want. my questions are what brand of tampons are best and should i start now so i will be more confortable or will it matter?

thank you.

Tampax Pearl Plastic.

Start using now, so you're used to them and you get the feel of them. It probably doesn't matter, but if I were you, I'd start now.

My periods are very irregular, even though i've had them for almost 4 years now, my hair is falling out, im always tired, i get contipated and my nails are really weak. Does anyone what these symptoms could mean? my mum has a thyroid robleem and thinks i could have it also, i want to go to the docters but im terrified of needles, and they'll want a blood sample.
Please help

Stress. I do believe my dearest, that when you're under stress, your hair falls out; you lose sleep; and you don't get the right amount of vitamins.

Get a hobby. It's hard to reduce stress, but you can do it. Go swimming, jump rope, rollerblade... Anything that makes you happy, and lets you focus on the outside world.

I highly doubt it's a thyroid problem. Since your mom has one, I'd watch out for later in life...

is there anyway you can dely your period but in a healthy way? cuz im goin on a trip next weekend and my period is planned to come around then! how can i cope with this?

Use tampons...

Or get on birth control (depo-shot). You won't get your period for three months, and you're safe from getting pregnant. It causes you to gain weight though...

We've all seen a million questions on "HOW CAN I TONE MY BODY?"

Well, I'm wondering how to just well, make your abs more.. defined and a little bit flatter. I already know about Tone Teen and Seventeen Workouts so please don't suggest that, thanks.

Visit www.ivillage.com. They have tons of things about abdominals...

Or use google, you never know; it works wonders.

BUT, all I know is you must include cardio in your workout...

Hey gals,
to any of you who arent very close to your moms, how did you tell her when you started your period and how did she react?

I didn't tell my mom... She asked me. I didn't think I needed to tell her, because that was my body and my business.

Once she found out, she cried; then asked why I didn't tell her.

Ive been down in the dumps lately about alot of things..first off my parents split up after a 22 yr marriage..then i didnt make my aau softball team that i make every year...and then things didnt work out with the guy i thought i liked. I really am depressed..i know i am..the symptoms are all there. I need something that will hype me up a little..ne suggestions?

Your parents splitting up was probably a good thing. Something had to have went wrong, not necessarily a bad thing, but right now it's probably for the best. Not making your AAU softball team is one of lifes little disappointments. You're still able to practice and play softball, just work at it and there's always next year! About the boy thing: We all have them problems.

Suggestions: Make contact with family and friends. Go to the movies, get a jogging buddy, or talk on the phone with someone you're fond of. Spend time with someone you consider to be positive, productive, and in a good state of mind. Also, try writing down all of your feelings in a journal. You'll look and read through them and be amazed at how you've changed. If you're afraid that someone will read your journal, rip up your entries and throw them away. And lastly, be around people who are active and spend less time alone.
