Hi, I'm Anna. I love visual art - acrylic painting, CG, color pencil. I'm also interested in poetry and classics, particularly Latin. I play ice hockey and love to ski (I get lots of chances since I live in Maine). I adore the ocean and my favorite color is blue. Thankyou. *bow*

Does anyone else ever get an itchy spot on their hand that, even when you scratch, doesn't go away?
HOW CAN I MAKE THE ITCHING STOP!?! Its brutal. (link)

You're quite likely dehydrated... drink some water and put lotion on your hands.

What does everyone here do to become a better writer? I want to be a writer when I grow up and I want to know if there are any writing excercises to become a better one. I know reading helps...but I'm just always in a writers block because all my writing is the same and it gets frustrating.
Know any way to improve my writing?
Anything...even if you think it sounds stupid.
Thanks! :) (link)

Always keep a notebook with you. ALWAYS. First rule of inspiration: it always tries to hit you when you're least prepared.
If you have writer's block, have think of five random words and write a couple sentences or a poem with them. Better yet, have someone else think of the words.
Find a picture you like and write about what's happening, what the people are thinking, et cetera. Better yet, do so with a picture you hate - it'll open up your possibilities (since you mentioned that all your writing sounds the same).
Write fan fiction. It sounds silly, but it helps your writing skills if you can convincingly write about someone else's world (making sure everyone's in character and the tone and mood don't change too much from the original will strengthen your writing as well).

By the way, I don't care if I SEEM desperate.I just want to help people if they want help...sorry for spazzing out before but you guys can get really harsh even if you didn't mean to. (link)

And, subsequently, I don't care if I SEEM harsh. I'm sure people realize you're here to give advice. Those of us with columns kind of ALL are.

Hey
This is Here To Help
To anybody who wants to ask me a question about anything that's bothering them, or things they have to deal with, and you don't want anybody seeing the question you asked, email me at
truevalue53@yahoo.com
please...I love helping people and I'll try helping you. (link)
|
I'm sorry, but you might not want to do this... not only does it take up space that could be used for real questions, but it's really just advertising and makes you seem a tad desperate.

DOES IT HURT TO HAVE BRAINS THE FIRST TIME IS THERE ANY PAIN FROM THINKING? (link)
|
I'm sorry, I can't answer this... I haven't thought yet. I believe people can only have one true idea and all thinking should be saved for then.
Or something.

A Dad's Bad Day!!!
It was late saturday night,
when you turned on the light,
you sat by my bed,
and all I felt was dread,
I knew something had happened,
but wut I did not know what,
then you started to speak,
and then I knew,
I didnt want to believe I thought you lied,
but then you showed me where she layed,
on the ground in her home,
to what her dad had done,
She was so cold with pure love in her eyes,
I should of done more,
but she said "No its alright he didnt do it" as she stared at the sky,
this wasnt the first time she had marks to bare,
But she would say "Ooh that was Bear",
but how could a dog brusie her that bad,
The thought of this accident it seemed so sad,
As we stand above her body,
We now start looking for Mr. Nobody,
We found out he skipped town,
Now where do we look now?,
Its such a shame,
for a girl to pay,
for what her dad did because he had a bad day. (link)

The meter is weird... it sounds like you're trying to rhyme free-verse in parts and it's a tad prosey. There are a few grammar issues and the point of view is unclear, but overall it's pretty good... it definitely has potential. The last three lines are very powerful (though they would be more so without the commas).

You sound left-heavy. Somewhere on the right, definitely.

Hey everyone, i'm so tired of being a prep and since being a punk is popular now, i think i'll go steal a chunk off of someone else's culture!
And can anyone tell me how to make my boobs look like Pamela Anderson's? Thanks so much, everyone! It means a lot to me! (link)

It's obscenely early in the morning, I've not yet gotten to sleep. How do I GET to sleep? (link)

Take a hot bath about an hour before you want to go to sleep. Read. Listen to chamber music. Daydream. Anything that normally calms you down and makes you feel comfortable will help.

If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap toast to a cat and drop it? My first friend said that the cat would eat the toast. My 2nd friend wanted to know what kind of toast: rye, or sourdough, and when I said it was regular white bread, she bit me. I said that the cat and toast would be sucked into a rift in the space-time continuum and the world would end. Who is right? (link)
|
Well, it really all depends on weight... if the mass of the toast is not equal to that of the cat, then the cat will win. Unless, of course, you used Wonderbread.
