hmm..well, ive had this problem before, too. it kinda of went on and off for me. maybe you guys should just be friends. tell him that it would be better for you, and if he wanted to be your boyfriend in the first place, he will understand if you want to be just friends.

What are some good ways to let me boyfriend down gently? I'm not into him as much as I used to be and we're just not working out. He never calls me and he never really talks to me. We've been one of those couples that looks so cute from the outside but there's nothing on the inside. but just tell him that things arent going very well, and you think that if you just stayed friends it would be much better for the both of you. because if you're not happy on the inside, its not good for either of you. its just bringing you down. i just suggest you tell him that and see how it goes. if he really likes you enough to date you, he will surely understand if u just want to be friends. i hope this helps!
