Why is there even an American Idol? Only one artist was popular [Kelly Clarkson] and I can see Carrie Underwood following her footsteps. But the other winners.. do they only do songs based on what society likes? I was listening to Jordan Sparks songs.. and it doesn't even show off her talent. it's just repeating a few words and it sounds so fixed. is this what people like nowadays? =s (link)

American Idol is run for ratings, and not how successful the artist will be later on.
The makers don't care about how the artists do, they only care about pulling in ratings. I don't live in the USA (Australia, we have Australian Idol here and our producers are doing the same thing)
I think people are over manfucatered artists. Voters only have a small selection to choose who they'd want to win, so they may vote for who they believe derserves to win, but at the end of it, it doesn't mean they want to become fans of their work.

ok... so I am looking for some new music that I think that I would lke. My type of style is rock, pop, alternative (but not screamo). The bands I like are paramore, hinder, threedaysgrace, and boyslikegirls. Are there any other music that i would like?

Well it was released in Australia 3rd of November and I think it's already out in Canada

Alright, firstly you can download JROCK/JPOP on any english speaking downloading programs as they are worldwide, and it covers every country and every culture. Therefore you *DONT* have to move to Japan just to listen to their music.
A few to try are:
LimeWire
BearShare
FrostWire
and if you want more just Google: File Sharing Programs
If you know specific titles of the songs you want try Altavista's MP3 search although I don't reccomend this as it searches links people have put on the internet but here is the link anyways:

and click the "MP3 search" tab.
Not every country is the USA, and the internet is worldwide, so you can easily get Japanese songs if you look. Good luck.

Well I really really want to get a radio on my iPod nano. But how? Is there a way I can? There's a certain radio channel in my area that I want, but iTunes doesn't have certain radio stations. So can anyone tell how I can do this or give me a website to do so? Or if there's a radio thing on iTunes that someone can recommend and has popular artists, etc, like Avril Lavigne, FOB, MCR, Green Day, etc, I don't really like rap or country. Thanks! (link)

There is one way to get a radio on your iPod. Go into your local Apple store, they have an add on to your iPod you can buy and it puts a radio on your iPod.

Alright, my Fathers birthday is comming up, and hes been saying that he wants an iPhone, well... he doesnt particuarly want the whole iPhone, what he wants is an iPod with a full size, touch screen, LIKE the iPhone. He doesnt want the internet connection or the phone, or any of that "new fangled stuff". Figures, thats my father speaking. well, what i want to know is if there is anything like that out on the market right now, I dont care if its not the brand name, what I do want to know is where you could get something like that, or if it even exists (yet).

That's why it's so unique/big at the moment because there's nothing like it yet.
I'd suggest maybe buying him a video iPod. It's got a pretty big screen and it's nearly like you said just excluding the touch screen. The upside is it holds more songs and videos as well.

Well...Ska is a fun music genre.
It's like "happy rock" with brass instruments. Well third wave anyways. But you have to be careful, because it depends on which band. So basically stay away from Punk Ska.
I suggest you download stuff from Reel Big Fish, Mustard Plug or Less Than Jake.

Anything by Cascada, preferably Everytime we touch or Hurricane, everyone who likes techno likes those songs and it's good to move/dance to because it's poppy but with techno sounds.

I'm not a big fan of techno...but every heard of Cascada? I like her songs. She's good.
Theres also a pretty old techno song called "Sandstorm" by "Da Rude" if you downloaded it you'd recognize it.
