I'm 17/f
So my mum has always been like really overprotective of me and things, as in she barely lets me walk out of the house alone and when I do I have to bring my phone and text her, and she also tells me what coat to wear and things, despite me saying I'm old enough blah blah blah to decided.
Also, we always get in arguments. Like she woke me up today, just by coughing in the small hours on the landing but really loudly, so I jsut, you know groaned. And she went BALISTIC.
All day she's been going on how I shouted at her in the night and things, and I feel like saying well I'm just a teenager, and occaisonally I do get moody. But she doesn't understand!
I am going to Uni inSeptember, but want to solve this now.
What should I do to solve this? (link)

You are a teenager and with your hormones changing you do get moody, but women in their mid life also have hormone changes called menopause. This also makes them moody. Google menopause and see what she is going through and you may possibly understand why she is the way she is.
Response to your feedback
Actually in some rare cases women can go through menopause slowly for years and years. My mother went to the doctor because she felt strange. (She is 47) The doctor ran many tests on her and come to find out she has been dealing with menopause since my birth. (I'm 26) That is 26 years of menopause. I say this because your situation sounds exactly like my childhood. I despised my mother for always snapping at me and yelling and complaining about every stupid little thing she could. Some of our arguments could have been classified as war. So don't rule it out completely. They put her on some type of medication that helped her go fully into her menopausal state and she is now out of it and now she is a completely different person. I truly enjoy my moms company now and we even go hang out in places I normally would never take her. She has become my best friend.
Then again it could just be her personality.
