My cat passed away 3 months ago, She was a hefty 14lbs and was heavy when I picked her up. The day she passed away I sat with her through the whole thing then I picked her up and her body was light. I understand that her body was lifeless and she was no longer there but how come she was lighter than usual? (link)
Unless you actually weighed the cat, you really can't be sure she was actually lighter. She may have been easier to lift because cats generally stretch and squirm when they're picked up, and she was no longer in any position to do that.

I've picked up my cat numerous times, She was VERY light there was no weight whatsoever. I know the difference but thank you anyway.
