My old best friend and I liked each other we never went out, we wanted to stay just friends but we even still love each other. So we never really talk much we say hi and always give each other high fives or fists. But if we ever flirt its so funny but I hate it we try so hard not to but end up flirting like ten year olds and then our other friends get us to separate we get in silly little arguments like well which kind of doughnut is the best stuff like that. Between all this and so much more there is love hate talking flirting not saying a word I just don’t get it! But I think Im the cause of it all. I can’t get over it we both want to be just friends so we say. Our families used to always go places together but then our parents found out and they don’t like the idea of us in the basement all night or going places or traveling. He watches other guys I hang out with. And hates guys that I flirt with or guys that like me. But we don’t talk about it anymore. We are opposites in every possible way. He accepts me for who I am and always has. He always stares at me in class but just looks so sad. But now he’s trying to hide it all. He refuses to go skating with me or anywhere that could end up flirting or something. Why cant we just be best friends only again but we cant help it. He acts like nothing is wrong but then he gets real jealous and protective. We lost our friendship for a while because of us loving each other and our friends trying to get us together and many other things happen like at parties between us. At the moment he’s in a different state. This never happened to me before with any guy. What could I do or say? Any help please?!? also its causeing me serious physical pain...
Only pursue an emotionally mature relationship if you can see yourself marrying him. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time for the both of you. I'd say he's feeling hopeless because you are the only girl who he could possibly want and you are sending him mixed messages. Take some time to organize your thoughts and let him know if you're willing to take things further or there's just nothing between you two. Confusion is the main issue. Once you know the motives of eachother, your relationship should be less of a strain!
