alright, so i got in an argument about bible verses with a friend of mine and i need help finding a few.
1. women aren't allowed to minister in the church
2. divorced women can't remarry
3. homosexuality is a sin
4. wearing gold jewelry is a sin
5. you must wait until marriage to have sex
only NEW TESTAMENT verses please, if you have any or all of these it would be greatly appreciated. thanks. (link)
The bible says in 1 Timothy 2:12 that women are not to be pastors, that doesn't mean they can't minister. Women minister to other women and to children; just not to men. 1 Timothy 3 lays out what a pastor is and it clearly says a pastor must be a man.

Our society sees divorce as a matter of going to court and signing a legal document that says a person is divorced. But in God's eyes that marriage is still a binding agreement. Therefore, even if it's legal in the court system, it's adultery as far as God is concerned. Luke 16:18

God says that the only righteous sexual relationship is between one man and one woman bond by marriage. 1 Corinthians 7:1-2 Any other sexual relationship outside of that is sin including homosexuality. 1 Corinthians 6:9

Wearing gold jewelry in and of itself is not sin. It becomes sin when a woman who claims to know the Lord cares more about outer beauty than keeping her heart pure. To put 1 Timothy 2:9 in today's terms...If a woman/girl claims to know the Lord, she needs to not dress (whether clothes or accessories) as to catch the lustful eyes of a man, but rather be modest.

Waiting to have sex goes back to 1 Corinthians 7:1-2 and 1 Corinthians 6:9; it's sin. And there is ALWAYS consequence to sin. God tells us to wait for marriage to protect us, not to prevent us from having "fun". Sex is a gift from God to be enjoyed between a married man and woman. Let me put it this way...I personally know the heart ache of sex before marriage. It's a difficult road that you can never rewalk.
