Cheerleaders are immediately associated with the high privelaged, popular prep crowd. Its not MOST people, its people who're more into the skater/goth/punk/emo thing, because of the stereotypical hatred of prep and all things preppy. The stereotype of cheerleaders as being very "pink" and slutty and having everything they want is totally overplayed by Hollywood, but thats just how it is.
I personally don't get along with the cheerleaders at my school, but thats based on personality clashes, not the fact that they're cheerleaders. :)
