about

Hey everyone, my name is Dave and I am currently 18 years old. I'm a pretty easy going, open-minded person that enjoys discussion and helping someone out in need. Lifting is one true passion that I will follow for as long as I possibly can, I just have a love for it. I also enjoy music, hanging out with my friends and overall, having a good time and getting the best out of life. Please, if anybody has a question about fitness, nutrition, or anything for that matter, dont hesitate to ask, i would be happy to help anybody out.

advice

Basically, I want to loose 20lbs by the end of school. Right now, I'm 16/f and weigh 151lbs and 5'6. I would like to weigh 130-135. So far I've been eating::
Breakfast- Oatmeal, Bannana, Diet Iced Tea.
Snack- Grannola bar
Lunch- Turkey Sandwhich, Yogurt, Carrots
Snack- Strawberry's, or some sort of fruit.
Dinner- A Lean Cousine Or Healthy Choice. (under 400 calories)

Every Day or so I also take a walk, or work out for forty minutes and then lift weights.

am i doing everything correctly? Do you think I can loose enough weight by the end of school? And what kind of foods should I add to my diet, if there are any?

thanks for the help :)

Your definitley on the right track.. for breakfast, oatmeal is the way to go, it's loaded with vitamins and minerals, and doesn't contain alot of carbs. For some day's though, instead of diet iced tea for breakfast, allow yourself a glass of orange juice, and pour the serving size listed on the back so you know the exact amount of calories and carbs your taking in. Diet tea and diet sodas are actually pretty bad for your bones and teeth.. with moderation it's not bad for you though. For your lunch, make sure you use whole wheat bread, and not white bread. White bread is chemically bleached, and also contains fatty starches and a massive loss of nutrients compared to wheat breads. I notice you've said your lifting weights too, so if i could make any more suggestions, pack some protein in your diet! Non-breaded chicken is an excellent source of protein, and with minimal carbs too. You can also try egg whites, so you don't get the cholestrol from the yolk, but you still get a large amount of protein. Also, make sure along with fruits, you eat a large amount of vegetables to keep your musules lean :] V8 tomato juice is actually a great source of vitamins and minerals, and one full serving is equal to a full serving of a vegetable for the day too. Celery is also a great thing to eat. Believe it or not, if you eat celery, you actually burn off more calories than you would have if you didn't eat any. Yes, it's actually a "negative calorie" food! As for your excersizing, running is one of the best excersizes that you can do for your body. You build musule running, whilst you burn fat and calories when looking at the cardiovascular point of view of it. After your run, it's great that your lifting weights. Make sure though, that you stretch before, and after your run so you don't end up cramping up, and so you don't pull any musules. Anyways i wish you plenty of luck loosing weight, and make it a fun thing to do instead of a priority! Listen to music, and run with friends or family if you like. Good luck! :D
