i'm 14/f and i've had my period for about 2-3 years now and i HATE pads so much. i've tried to put a tampon in so many times but whenever i do i don't know exactly where to put it and it doesn't just slide in easily do i force it in? will it hurt? how long can you keep it in there? when you take it out do you just pull the string? i've never stuck anything up there before. i'm so desperate any advice would help. thanks soo much!

It's a little tricky to get the hang of it at first but after a few tries its really easy. If you are a virgin you should probably try using a smaller size at first such as Junior sizes, Lites or Regular size. Then it is helpful to sit on the toliet with your knees apart, and relax. If your not relaxed it makes it harder to insert! so take a few deep breaths. Hold the applicator with your thumb and middle finger with your pointer finger on the bottom of the applicator. Insert the tip of the applicator (try to angle it towards your lower back) all the way, then push the bottom of the applicator with your pointer finger until you hear or feel a click, then remove the applicator. If its in right you wont feel it at all, if it feels weird take it out and try again. Don't worry its normal to have a little trouble.
You can usually keep them in for 4-6 hours depending on how heavy your flow is. And to take it out you just pull the string.
