I feel like I'm more spiritual than Religious. My family is of the Christian faith. I'm not sure that I'm that religious. I believe in horoscopes (don't judge me) and the power of herbal healing and I feel like I'm more intouch with my spiritual side. Then again, I feel bad for being like that because I'm afraid I'm going to go to hell for not being that religious. I just feel guilty.
What are y'alls opinions on this?

Let's define spiritual vs. religious. Religious is something you do over and over again. I can be religious about washing my car, but washing my car is not going to get me to heaven any more than religious church stuff. When religious is refered to in a "God" sense, it usually means man-made traditions which mean nothing in the light of eternal salvation. Salvation is through Jesus Christ and ONLY Jesus.
Being spiritual means a lot of different things these days. If being spiritual is anything other than the worship of God through His Son Jesus, it's serving a false god. One must be careful not to mix the truth of Christ with false things of this world.
Having said that, let's address where you are. You said that you ask God for guidance every night and nothing seems to be happening. First of all I want to commend your faithfulness in seeking God. God is ALWAYS interested in the heart of a person especially the seeking heart. We as humans tend to think that if God doesn't answer in the way we think He should, He's not answering. Done this a lot myself. But from what you said, I see a LOT happening. You may be confusing guilt with conviction. What you are feeling may be God convicting your heart to seek His way...His plans for your life. Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? I grew up in a religious home too with parents who called themselves Christians, but I didn't find Christ as my Savior until I was older. True spirituality is found in Christ first, then we are able to discern the expression of that spirituality in a way that pleases God.
My advice to you is to keep asking God for guidance, but along with that, ask for understanding. If your thoughts are mixed up and you're not sure if what you are hearing is from God or not, here is what you do...you compare it to the Holy Bible. If what you hear or think contradicts what the Bible says, it's not true.
If you position your heart to be open to truth, I have no doubt you will be given what you seek.
