I am a female, age 14, and I weigh 140lbs (about). Do you think I am too fat to do pointe work? Am I too fat to have a partner? What can I do to ensure that I will be able to start pointe in the fall? (I have to please my teacher and it is totally her choice wether or not I can take pointe) Do you think I need to loose weight for this? Thank you so much

ok i have taken ballet for 5 years so i think i might be able to help you out. i dont think you would really need to lose wieght but u might wanna build up your ancle strength. thats what pointe is all about you need alot of ancle strength. trust me i would know. and if you are not able to take pointe see if your studio offers pre-pointe to begin. i hope i helped!

(Rating: 5) yeas I am taking a pre pointe class but I really want to take a beggining class. I have no idea what to do about that. My teacher says I do have very strong ankles and am really good on my demi-pointe where u know we are on the ball of our foot. Thanks
