About BlondBritBrit

i'm Brittany and though I'm only 14, I'm really good at the psycology of teens. I usually don't use the answer "you should go to a counsler" or anything similiar to that. Although that is a good idea in many situations, I tend to realize that most teens have thought about that and most of them refuse to talk to a counsler about it. If you want a straight up answer without all the "you shouldn't have done that" talk, let me know.

Is it normal to feel like cutting, or drinking or using self-destructive behavior after a break-up? I can't get over someone I've been with for over two years and he broke it off. I feel like hurting myself, is there something wrong?

I'm sorry to tell you, but there is not much people can do to help you once you try cutting. I have many friends that cut and I have tried to get them to kick the habit (and yes, it is a habit; it's very hard to stop cutting), but it they eventually do it again because of either: family, friends, bf/gf relationships. You should try to to never cut because you may get hooked even though you won't like it. Once your hooked, not even you can help yourself. Even some of my friends that have cut for well over a year hurt themselves without realizing it. He sometimes lightly stabbs himself during class with a pen and doesn't notice or feel any pain.

Here's what you should do when you feel urges to cut or drink. Call an ALWAYS POSITIVE friend and talk to him/her on the phone for a while. Also go out to a party and (if you want to, or if your old enough) makeout with lots of guys. Beleive me, this will get your mind off that other guy.

Sorry that I'm not the like the little angels on this website, but I tend to say what's not the most obvious things that would be more dificult for people. (such as getting a phycologist, many people don't want their parents to find out they cut so they just keep cutting. You could totally do a psycologist if you want, don't let me stop you.) ;)

Good luck, let me know what you think your gunna do.
Ex's and Oh's,
brittany
