Have you even heard of many low carb diets? If not the two most popular are Atkins and South Beach. If you tell people your low carbing, some people may be negative about it. You cant listen to what people say about low carb, because they dont know what their talking about. Doctors have even asked their patients to go on low carb, have gone low carb themselves, and say its an okay thing to do! So no matter what anyone says, tell them its none of their buisness. First, let me tell you how this works. When you normally eat...your body burns off the carbs first, THEN the fat. So when the carbs are burned, next is fat..but your body has burned enough so it just stores the fat. You see? So when you see "Low-fat" anywhere..it doesnt really matter. Its just a way of tricking people to buy their products. So by low carbing, you limit your carbs and eat fat. That way, your body gets rid of the small carbs and starts working on the fat! Now, most people when reading or hearing about the low carb diet are scared because they say they cant live without brownies, pasta, bread, potatoes, rice, etc. But millions have done it. The 300 lb people can do it, and so can you. Sure, the first few days might be hard..maybe even weeks. But after 2 weeks the cravings will be gone. I promise, it took me two weeks. After a while I could look at a big chocolate cake and not care! If you survive the first two weeks, you can survive the rest of your diet. What you CANT eat: Junk food, Bread, Rice, Pasta, Potatoes, Soda, Juice, fruits(after two weeks, you can have some) Now your thinking, well what the heck AM I gonna eat? Eggs, Meat (Chicken, turkey, ham, burger meat, etc.), Lettuce, Cream Cheese, anything low carb! Look for foods that are HIGH in protien/fat, and have fiber(fiber lesses the carbs. If you have something thats 3 grams of Carbs, 1 gram of fiber its actually now 2 grams of carbs. So subtract fiber from carbs and get total carbs. Low carb should be around 1-10 grams per serving. (meat has low carbs). Believe it or not, you do have millions of choices when eating low carb. You can look up recipes on google just by searching "low carb recipies" This diet doesnt have to be boring! You have heard of the low carb ice creams, bars, and other stuff. But you CANNOT have ANY of that stuff until 2 weeks have gone by. Your 2 weeks will be the "strict phase"...where you are really pushing toward low carb and limiting yourself to 25 carbs a day. (You can do it). A great thing about it, is you DONT have to exercise! WOW! Awesome huh? I HIGHLY reccomend getting the book Atkins or South Beach (I would get it for free at the library) this will very much help you on your road to success! I have been on this diet three times and each with great success. It's a great quick fix. You lose 5-14 lbs the first two weeks, and then 1-3 lbs a week after that.
Things you have to do:
Take a fiber supplement everyday, like Benefiber.
Drink a lot of water, you can have crystal light which tastes like juice and its sugar free/low carb. It's reccommended that if you are 140 lbs, you should drink 120 oz. of water. Half of whatever your weight is. Thats nearly impossible but set a goal for yourself.
Also weigh yourself once a week, not everyday because you'll get discouraged!
You dont have to exersize but it does help.
