i have horrible grades. and i dont know how. i try hard. but i have to miss a lot of school. our school has a rule about after 11 absents' you may loose class credits. im a sophmore. i try hard and im very smart. i have easy classes. but i think the bad grades are because of the missing school. you know. which most of the time wasnt my fault. i was in a really bad wreck. my car rolled 6 times. and i broke a rib and slightly punctured a lung. adn broke my collar bone. and had 311 stitches in my left arm, and 83 staples in my head. so obviously a bad wreck. my doctor ordered me to stay out of school for a week or two. so i did for a week in a half. and that was 7 school days. then i got really sick. adn missed like 3 days and then sick again and missed a couple more days. my princepal has told me i need to go to school. but i was sick and couldnt even hardly get out of bed. what would you do to get your grades up if you missed a lot of school
ill rate high
Hey, I'm really sorry to hear about your accident.
None of this seems the slightest bit fair especially because of your traumatizing car accident. The truth is though if you miss a lot of class, you're going to be behind. I understand you were sick as well. These are all things you can't help.
However, unless you get EXTREMELY sick again to the point where you are throwing up or can't get out of bed, make an effort to go to school. I can't stand missing school because making up work is always a nightmare. Because when I finally get back to school, I have to do that days homework, all the homework I missed, and try and jumble studying for tests or quizzes I missed while I was out. It's a nightmare--and teachers don't always give you or tell you clearly what you missed. Then, they accuse you for not having your work.
I'm not exactly a perfectionest but I try and strive for high grades. I'm not the kind of person that lets a bad grade or two roll of my back. It usually bothers me, so I know how you feel. Best idea, as annoying as it may sound, is to go into the classes you are doing poorly in at lunch, and get extra help if possible. Or sit a friend down that does well academically and have them explain to you what you don't understand.
Make it a note to study for tests you don't think you're going to do well on. Study at your desk earlier on in the day so that you don't get weary and give way to sleep!
If teachers are giving you a hard time about the work you missed, see the principle or a guidance counseler and explain to them your troubles. If they still don't understand, have your parents call in and tell the principle or guidance counseler why you couldn't do the work. It's not fair that you should be expected to be in school on days when you absolutely are in no condition to attend.
Good Luck, I really hope all goes well for you. If you need more help, inbox me! :)
(Rating: 5) thanks you were extremely helpful. i talked to my guidence counslor and princepal. and they both agreed that my health was not in good enough condition to attend school on the days i missed. i have never been a person to miss for no reason. and they took taht into consideration. so thanks again. bye
