ok well for school we have to wright a persusive essay about something we feel strongly about adn i choose to wirght about abortion..well i was thinking that i dont really no that much about it but that it kills an innicoent child adn what it says on the internet..but i really need peoples opinions about why they are for or against it...i really need this nad its due tomorrow yes i no stupid to do things last min. but you no i forgot..
so whay would you be for or against or both on abortion?

First off gooood luck to you- whatever your views you will be shot down for them by someone or other. Also this is a tired old debate in which any moron can have an "opinion" knowing absolutely nothing about the topic. You will get tired of the arguement very quickly, particularly if (as happened to me) one of your teachers insists on hunting you down and engaging you in "discussion" about your views.
Personally I would be horrified if abortion were made illegal as I think it is a necessary evil in our society at present and its removal would result in even more children we have no place for (there are already far too any children in care who have not been and will not be adopted and unfortunately the figures do not fit the simple equation of "loads of couples want to adopt so just put them up for adoption" solve-all solution so often thrown out by pro-lifers)
But to be brief here are some topics/ideas to help you:
Responsibility- whos is it? the mother's? the government's? If your responsible enough to have sex does that mean you are responsible enough to take care of a baby OR if you're irresponsible enough to get pregnant does it mean you should not be handed a baby in a million years?
Causes: Why ARE there unwanted pregnancies? Inadequete Birth control? Bad education in young people (could bring in schools that teach only abstinence-do they have higher or lower rates of teen pregnancy in their students?). What about abortion within marriage or adult relationships?
Rights: A mother's right to control over her own body or an unborn child's right to be born? What about the rights of the father? If a father wans to keep the baby but the mother wants an abortion, what happens?
Incidentally you will find an awful lot of websites both pro-life and pro-choice (btw it's impossible to have two "pro"s in an arguement- so you could bring in the fact that really they're fighting on two competely different planes or reasoning) but they will all have an extreme slant. If you want facts and figures go to a website/book with actualy government/medical records that should be the most un-biased information you will find on the topic.
