advice
im going to be a senior this year and i want to go to penn state. the thing is that my sat scores were not that good.. 440 on writing and reading and 640 on math. my gpa is around 3.4ish.. no extra curricular activities, i know it sucks and i dont think ill do any this year cause applications are in at the beginning of the year.. so what do you think my chances are getting into penn state?

I gave you that link because I'm not sure exactly which school you're talking about... I live pretty far away from you so I'm not familiar with the area.
Anyway, once you find the school you're talking about, click on it. Then, go to the SAT page and it will tell you what your scores should be to get in. This isn't set in stone, but it should give you an idea of what SAT scores they are looking for.
Also, you can click on the Admissions option to see the percentage of applicants admitted. That will also give you a good idea of your chances.
Since you'll be a senior this year, you still have another chance to retake the SAT. I think it would be a wise decision- it wouldn't hurt, right? You might do awesome on it this time. I know you said that applications are in at the beginning of the year, but there are a lot of seniors who still take the SAT in the fall.
Sorry I can't give you more specific information, but I'm really not familiar with Penn State at all. Don't get into the mindset that just because it's your senior year, you can't improve your grades or your extracurriculars. It's never too late to try to be more impressive to colleges.

umm im a 17/f & over the last few days i've been smoking. & i drank a little bit of alcohol butt hat was one day. well i was wondering in TExas before u get your driver's license do they drug test you? iumm and also i've been smoking for 4 days & one day i smoked 3 cigarettes. so how long does it stay in your body? k please help me kthnxbye.
No, they don't drug test you before you get your license in Texas. I live in TX and I was at the driver's license office today renewing mine... no drug test, just a vision check.
Alcohol and tobacco don't stay in your system like marijuana and stuff like that. They're out in like a day or so. They don't show up on drug tests in the same way that actual drugs do... you have to like, check specifically for each type of drug (amphetamines, et cetera).
There are a lot of people at my school who drink/smoke, and we have random drug tests a lot... but nobody has ever gotten in trouble for alcohol or tobacco. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you are responsible about it, you'll be fine.

No, you don't. However, it's probably better to change it every time you go to the bathroom. I personally don't really use the restroom too terribly much, so it's just a matter of personal preference... but if you pee like every thirty minutes then it's definitely fine to leave it in.

Okay, so I cheer. I believe it's a sport. What is your take. I do not see why people believe it's not. Like honestly, we throw people in the hair, flip around, etc. And we recieve no credit. I would like to know what people think, and why they think it. Please support your anwser: I will rate based on how well you support yourself.
I think it's a sport. You should definitely get athletic credits for it at school if you don't already. At my school, you have to have like 1.5 athletic credits to graduate... even marching band counts as athletics.
However, the cheerleaders at my school aren't gymnasts or athletes. They have no gymnastic or athletic background... at pep rallies and football games they just stand there and most of the time they don't even cheer or get the crowd pumped up. It's basically just a bunch of girls standing there in uniforms. Their coach can't even get them to show up to practice. So I wouldn't call what they do a sport (standing around), but if you are an actual cheerleader and you actually work hard at it, then yes, it's definitely a sport.
I think that especially with cheerleading/gymnastic movies, people are beginning to see that it really is a sport. Dancing is a sport too.
So I'm not sure this is in the right category but what ever.

So ever since I was in 5th grade weird things have happened. I fell like in a way I am what you could call "phycic" (how ever you spell it)
For example: In 5th grade one day, I was in school. During class I was thinking about there being a school fire or bomb threat or something and the cops would come etc. About 10 minutes after that class, there was a bomb threat in the 5th grade girls bathroom. The whole school was evacuated and the cops came etc.
When I was in 6th grade I was in the car with my mom and my brother, I was think about car accidents. About 5 minutes later we got into the biggest car accident in the history of the town. I got hurt and almost had to go to the hospital. I was the only one who was injured.
About 2 weeks ago, I was in the kitchen, but was busy doing something so never looked up. It was my cousins wedding day and she was having the wedding at my house. I was thinking about something tragic happening. When I looked up I started coughing because my kitchen was covered with black smoke. My mother came out and forgot there was pizza boxes in the oven and earlier turned it on. When we opened the over the boxes were on fire and our kitchen went up in flames.
There isn't really any more of the story needed.
I am really freaked out because weirder things and scarier things have happpend to me.
I don't know what to do.
Is there something wrong with me or is it all just in my head?

Physics is a science, and that does exist. Physics is a course you take in high school. That doesn't pertain to psychology, which is where psychics come in. It's easy to confuse the spelling of the two, and I didn't want you to be confused when you start taking physics classes.
I used to think that I was a little bit like you. Strange things like that kept happening to me... I'd have a dream about something weird happening and the next day it would. But I really do think it's all in your head. I think it's just coincidental... and that life has a funny way of working out. There are so many other times you sit there and think, "Hey, wouldn't it be weird if..." but those things don't happen most of the time so you don't think anything of it. That's why I think it's a coincidence when something that you thought about does happen... just because it's not a big deal when something you think about DOESN'T happen.

I learned how to make them just this past week. I made mine out of hemp string I bought at Michael's for only a few dollars, and some beads.

It's detailed but if you follow the directions to a T you will have a pretty bracelet. You don't have to make a little fastener if you don't want to... I didn't feel like it, so I just tied mine directly around my ankle. I've had it on there for a week and it hasn't fallen off or anything.

I just made the All American Cheerleading team. I have the chance to go to Orlando to cheer in the half time show of the Capital One Bowl. My mom said that I am for sure going to that one. But my goal, hopes, and dream is to be able to go to Honolulu for the Pro Bowl to cheer in it.
I am asking for any ideas you guys have to raise money for me to go.
I went around today asking for Sponsors and I already have 4 maybe 5 business. Some places told me to come back on monday because thats when the owner would be there.
I called my cheerleading coach and she said we could get the girls to help out. But the thing is, when she will tell the girls that I am going and they are going to help raise money, they will wanna go too. I'm kinda being self fish and I don't want to share my profits, I want this really bad. So any ideas my family and my friends could do.

Hot dog sale- How does that work? Do we pay say Giant Eagle(its a food store where I live) and they give us the buns and drinks, or what? I'm not sure how that would work..

The most successful fundraiser I've ever seen was a car wash where they sold tickets for like 3 to 5 bucks beforehand. This was for the twirlers at my school. They start selling car wash tickets like two months in advance. A lot of people buy the tickets and then forget to go to the car wash (but the twirlers still keep the money). They raise a lot more money that way. Also, be sure to have a donation box at the car wash just in case someone is feeling particularly nice. A car wash is a good fundraiser if you have family members and friends who are willing to work outside for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. Oh, and you don't have to pay to use someone's parking lot. There are many people who will let you use it for free... sometimes car dealerships or places like Wal-Mart, Chick-Fil-A, and Taco Bell will let you use their parking lot free of charge.
Think about having a yard sale too. Get everybody in your house to go through all their crap and you can sell the stuff you don't want. You can also ask your neighbors and friends for donations of their random crap that they don't want.
Your best friend should be advertising. People need to know that you're trying to raise money for this. So flyers, posters, and signs around town will be really helpful.

None of us live in Plano or frequent your music stores often, so we're not going to know exactly what stores will have this book. We're not psychic; we don't just happen to know the complete inventories of music stores.
Here is where you can use this handy dandy thing called a phone book. Look up all the music stores in your area, call them, and ask them if they have the book. Easy enough.
Or you can order it online.
If it helps, I bought my copy of Wohlfahrt Foundation Studies for the Violin, Book 2 at a random hole-in-the-wall music store where I live. It's not completely obscure, so just call them and ask.

Get a dryer sheet and rub it through your hair. No lie. I don't know why it works, but it does. It takes the static out instantaneously. All of my friends just carry dryer sheets around everywhere in the winter. You don't have to "rub" it in your hair, but like... stroke it through your hair? Haha, try it, it works.
why do people get offended if someone says something like, "oh my god!" or "jesus christ!" ? this question has always bugged me. i know it has something to do with "not using the lords name in vain" or something? but i dont get that either? cheeers:)
I don't know, it's like you're not supposed to use the Lord's name when you curse. So saying stuff like "goddamn" is bad apparently. If it offends people, I try not to say it around them. But if it doesn't offend you, say whatever you want when you're not around them :)
I've been using differin for two years and my skin was flawless and blemish free. but, this year my skin has been breaking out with lots of acne. is it possible that my skin became immune to the medication? would it be a good idea to see a dermatologist?
Yes, it did that to me too. When you go to the dermatologist, ask about Retin-A. It's stronger than Differin and worked better for me. Also, I've recently been on tetracycline, which is a pill. It's worked really well.

No, they would kill each other. You can't put two betas in the same bowl permanently. Go to a pet store and ask them about breeding betas. You have to get a tank with a partition, and all kinds of stuff. You have to like, separate the eggs from everything else because the parents will attack them. It's best to get advice from people at a pet store.

There's a such thing as too much sleep. If you're a teen, you only need like 8-9 hours. When you get too much sleep, it makes you sleepy all day... which makes little sense, but it's true. Try going to bed at midnight and waking up at nine.

And it was talkin about how she's done with guys cuz there all the same. And they all break her heart. So do you think this is just a phase for her? (shes 16 going on 17)
Then theres my cousin Ryan. I dont talk to him much. But i looked at his Myspace today and in his "orietation" space it said "Not Sure." So do you think that means theres a chance of him being gay? (hes 13)

About Lauren: Yeah, it's a phase. I definitely don't think she means that she is a lesbian- she probably just wants to stay single for a while. There's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion.
About Ryan: That could mean a couple of different things, and I want you to consider all of them. Firstly, he could be gay or bisexual, but since he's 13 he could just be in a phase where he's not sure. Second, he could just not know what orientation means (which sounds stupid, but if someone had asked me what my orientation was when I was 13, I would have been confused). So maybe he put "not sure" because he literally wasn't sure what it meant. Or, maybe he hasn't gotten around to putting gay or straight. Or, maybe that's the default that myspace puts on there and he hasn't changed it to whatever he is yet. There may be a chance of him being gay, but since he's 13, it's probably just a phase.
how do you delete a song from your itunes library? i've tried everything, pressing the delete key on the keyboard, right clicking, going to the menu.. i can't figure it out.
For me, it works to right click and then choose delete. If it's not working, reboot your computer. If it still doesn't work, make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes. I think they just came out with an update pretty recently.
