When you slow dance with a guy, where do you put your arms? if anyone knows a link to a good picture that shows it.. that would be great!! thanks
you normally put your hands around his neck, and he normally puts his hands around your waist. that's how most people do it. however, my group of friends is probably different from that. to us, slow dancing with somebody doesn't mean that you like them, it just means that you're friends... so sometimes we do the whole ballroom dancing thing. you know, girl's left hand on boys shoulder, boy's right hand on girl's waist, and then the extra hands meet in the middle sort of thing. but if a guy asks you to dance, wait like half a second to see where he's going to put his hands to make sure that you two are on the same page.
How do celebrity people honestly get so skinny. Is it because of an eating disorder? Even so, it seems that they lose the weight much faster than any 'normal' person who has one. I dont understand.
Yes I know eating disorders are horrible, I'm not planning on picking one up. I'm just wondering how they get so skinny!
they have personal trainers and they eat like zero grams of fat a month. as you probably well know, a lot of them do have eating disorders because of the peer pressure and the media wanting everybody to be skinny. there are people who are naturally just really skinny like that, but it takes a lot of work to stay that skinny, almost to the point of anorexia. a lot of celebs are underweight, which is just disgusting. it saddens me that little girls look up to those celebs that do really bad things and don't take care of themselves. but yeah, the combination of personal trainers, a chef who will make you foods that have like negative calories, diet pills, and stress would definitely make somebody lose a lot of weight, and quickly too. it's sad.
is there any way that you can delete songs on a CD? if there is, how do you do it?
thx
nope. unless you're using a burnable cd-rw, then no. if you want to destroy the songs forever, i guess you can break the cd. once you burn a cd, you can't add or delete stuff to it. so whenever i do projects for school, i normally use a cd-rw, or a flash drive, or a floppy disk. i know that was entirely too much information.
hey everyone!!
Well i just recieved this project at school. Im in 8th grade, and im studying "the road to revolution". This time period includes events such as the Tea act, boston tea party, stamp act, ect..
Well, we are usually suppose to draw a road down the cented of it, and write the info along the side of the road, but this year my teacher has decided to let us be creative.
Im NOT creative at all!! She said do something like a gameboard theme, but doing a road down the center would be just fine as well.
I would like to do something a little different for extra credit points.
I was thinking about something along the lines of the song Life Is A Highway, by the Rascal Flatts. Since it kinda has to deal with roads, and i could put the info in street signs, and random pictures from the movie cars, since Life Is A Highway was freatured in that movie.
My second idea would be doing something along the lines of the Rockin' Rollercoaster. Its in Disneyworld fyi.. I would have the guitar neck as the road, and the street signs would flash the information...
But i really have no other ideas. I like mine enough, but not really...
anything else will help and thanks for your time and effort!! :P

if you do go with the original road idea, in the earlier years you could make the road look like a grass path or something, then a dirt road, then gravel, then asphault in the later years. that idea actually kind of sucks, so don't listen to me. haha. you can do some sort of play on words- road, rhode island, rocky road ice cream, rode, erode, railroad, the song "hit the road jack", abbey road (an album by the beatles)... yeah, my ideas definitely suck, but it's better than nothing, right? another song could be "life in the fast lane" by the eagles. and another idea that goes along with the road signs, is that you can have them say the info like you said, and then on the sign where you would normally put "highway whatever", you can put "highway (year)". for instance, if it was the declaration of independence, then "highway 1776" or "route 1776" or something like that. speed limit signs, the green signs that tell you how far you are from stuff, and other random signs will make it look really cool. if you do the rockin' rollercoaster idea, make sure that you make it clear that you're basing the idea off of the rockin' rollercoaster because otherwise it will be slightly abstract-random. good luck!
I'm taking drivers ed & we need to complete a certain amount of hours on the road. Last time I went driving, my teacher yelled, cursed, got really mad at me for making a few mistakes, and really just scared me. I'm nervous when I drive to begin with so extra yelling isn't helping me. I came home shaking & started crying as soon as I got into the door. I think driving is full of pressure alone, so all of this extra stress isn't helping me. I don't know what to do. I still have quite a few hours to go before my test, but I doubt I'll even pass it now. What should I do?? Any advice/tips?? Thanks!
well, instead of taking the driving part of driver's ed with your school or whatever, you can apply for the parent-taught course. i know that you've already taken the classroom, but as long as you complete the hours then you can get your license. that's what i did. so you can probably do that, depending on what state you live in. call the dmv in your city and ask them about the parent taught driving portion of driver's ed, and where you can apply for that. that is the best solution, i think. also, you just drive around with your parents (like you could drive to school and back with them in the car or something) and that counts for the hours. plus, for the hours that you already have done, if you do parent-taught, your parents can write down those hours so you don't have to start all over. and as far as i know, in my state we don't have to take the actual driving part of the test to get a license. at least i didn't. once again, it depends on where you live. well, good luck, i know this is a tough situation.
okay theres this club called "People to People." My friend told me about it, and I thought it would be cool so I nominated myself for it. My sister already was nominated by somebody else.. and yeah its possible to just nominate yourself so I did, and now I can go to a meeting. My problem is.. my friends who have been in People to People (this year we get to go to Japan!) say you have to do this interview.. um has anybody else been in People to People and knows what the interviews are like? cause a lot of people want to get to go on the trip and I'm dying to go to Japan.. I've wanted to go there my whole life, because when I was younger I really liked Japanese stuff.. I mean I guess I've already been to quite a lot of places. I was born in London, my parents are from Cameroon and I've visited Cameroon.. I have a very interesting childhood and I'm a pretty interesting , fun, hardworking person. I think I am a perfect canidate.. but Im not sure.. would they want people who havent been to places to get to go to People to People? my dad says he will pay for me and my sister if we get in (yeah we know its expensive but its worth it) but its not like my family is millionaires and can afford to go to amazing places like ALL the time.. so the experience would be...REALLY special. please help.. and thanks SO much for your time. :)
this is a good question for me to answer because i went to australia with people to people :) basically the interview is very easy- you wear semi-nice clothing and go talk to an adult and answer their questions. it's stuff like, "what do you do after school?" and "what's your favorite school subject?" and "have you ever traveled without your parents before?" it's really easy, and it's supposed to help people to people make sure that you are a good person. if somebody went in there and started freaking out or was really really rude or something, then they probably wouldn't get to go. it doesn't matter if you have traveled before or not. don't sweat the interview- you will get in. and most likely it will be a group interview- the two people i was interviewed with ended up going on the trip and i became good friends with them. don't let this opportunity go to waste! it is so cool to visit other countries, and i recommend people to people to anybody! i have to leave to go do something right now, but if you have any questions then leave them in my inbox and i will get to them tonight probably :)
what do you do for a teacher who wrote you recommendations? write a thank you note? ..anything else? chocolates? lol
a thank you note is very good! you don't have to send anything else, but like the other person said, starbucks is always good... but a thank you note is definitely appreciated a lot :)
how come its so suggestive? i mean i love the songs on the CD by the Fratellis.. but like I haven't bought the CD yet, and I want to, but I also kinda don't.. cause I'm not a lesbian and the cover is pretty suggestive... so I dont want people to think I am from the CD's cover. what made the fratellis put that as their cover anyways? thanks.
that album cover is not suggestive of lesbians. the girls are not all over each other or anything. they are called pin-up girls, and are reminiscent of the 1950s. and think about it- the band is guys. what do guys like? girls. why would guys care about lesbians? anyway, go ahead and buy the cd, and if your friends say something then they're stupid, but if you seriously think they're going to say something then just don't show it to them. or buy it on itunes. or download it on limewire or frostwire.
ok, so im going to a concert, and im ordering the tickets online.. and same with the parking tickets. The tickets for parking say lot 3 or whatever, but then it says something like GA1.. what does that mean? like a garage? The concert is at the AT&T center in San Antonio, Texas, if it helps!
that would make sense that it's the parking. however, since you didn't say what show it is, the seating and parking could be different for each show, so go to ticketmaster.com, look up the band or whoever, and then it will show you a seating chart and another parking diagram that might help you out more. but it sounds like you just need to go park in lot 3, which they should have a sign for.
I am applying to two colleges, Texas A&M and UT.
I am in the top ten percent and i am wondering when the TEXAS A&M Early Admission date ends???
Is there even a Early Admission? Similar to Baylors??
Or does admission come within 2-3 weeks of your completed application sent into the college anytime within these months until the deadline in december or feebuary???
I am asking because school is extremly stressful currently and someone told me that the end of the "Early Admission" is MONDAY OCTOBER 15th that is litterly within a week, and i still have to write two essays and get my recs, transcripts and more!!!
I am super stressed and am soo confused on the whole application process....especially for A&M b/c that is my number one choice.
Okay to sum this up....I am wondering if there is anything due by MONDAY 15th this month...to be accepted early, (before april) sooo i will know where im going for the rest of the school year. And if anyone that is at A&M spcifically tell me how you like it and about your application process.
Thank you soo much i htink i will go insaine if it is due the 15th!
Senior year is sooo stressful!
okay, collegeboard.com is GREAT for that stuff. it gives you all the dates that you need and the policy for early admissions, et cetera. also, i believe in the policy it says that you can only apply to one school by early admission, and if they find out that you applied to two schools by early admission, then bad things will happen. i know you are just talking about a&m early admissions, but it's useful info. there should be an early admissions to a&m- i know there is one at UT because i looked it up once. one of my friends actually already sent in his early admissions thing i believe. however, if you live in texas, and since you are in the top ten percent, that is an automatic admission to any state school. so don't get worried about not getting into college- you definitely will! as for the actual date, i wouldn't be surprised if it's october 15. don't rush on your application, but there is plenty of time after october 15 to turn it in. you don't absolutely have to do early admission, and because you are in the top of your class, you are pretty much safe with the whole getting into a&m/ut thing. i know some people at a&m and they love it. good luck!
list anything you girls put in your purses.

would the dance in thriller be considered famous or infamous?
since "famous" means well known, and "infamous" means well known for having a bad reputation, i would say it's just famous. unless it's considered a terrible dance and i'm missing something here, it's famous :)
OK well if you live down a street that is a small road and by a pond do you think they can still do it? ah help i'm confused!
i don't see why not
Is it possible to shorten a dress made of polyester with a flowy hem line? I need it shortened by Saturday! Is this even possible with this type of dress?
yes, but it is kind of a slim chance that it can be done by saturday unless you find an awesome tailor.
EDIT: i just thought of something after i answered that. okay, if you can't get it shortened by saturday, it will still look fine if you wear it with tall shoes. it depends on how much it needs to be shortened though. if it's like an inch or two then tall shoes should do the trick.
i was wondering what people thought about student and teacher in a relationship. what do you think about it?
the teacher can lose their job if you're a minor, which is really bad for them. it would be okay if you graduated or whatever and were no longer officially that teacher's student. that's my opinion. i know some teachers that have married students before, so it's not nasty, but it just depends on the situation. use your judgment, and make sure that the teacher won't lose their job over it.
My b/f's homecoming dance is next week, and i need some ideas on how to dress. Im not exactally sure as to how to dress 'semi formal.' Please answer quickly, im going to the mall tomarrow.
Please and thanks.
oh, i love semi-formals :) okay, a semi-formal dress is like cocktail attire- the dress is normally knee length, worn with heels, and the top of the dress can be strapless or have straps, or something of that nature. if you look in the junior's sections at macy's, dillards, and even jcpenney's you will find some semiformal dresses. a knee length dress is just sort of a guide- you can go a couple of inches above or below if you really want to. it's not a big poofy prom dress or anything, and they should be 100 bucks or less. i hope you find a cute one!
i have a gorgeousss black silk dress, but its a few inches too small. if i bring it to a tailor, could they possibly add onto it to make it bigger?
it's definitely worth a try. i've seen it done before. worst case scenario is that they can tailor it into a top or a skirt.
what the heck:

what do they mean by semesters we have taken? i have taken all four years of language arts in high school.. how could i have taken 8? over the summer???
there are 2 semesters in a school year. fall and spring. you take semester exams before christmas, and final exams at the beginning of june (normally). so if you took four years, you took eight semesters, regardless of what your high school calls it.
when sending mail do i have to put a return address?
no, but it's recommended in case it has to be returned to you. but if you're sending an anonymous letter or something, then you don't have to put it if you don't want to.
My girlfriend is in band, it's her life. I was really hoping to make her a CD of Classical music (like intrumentals) of popular songs that she might have heard already.
I would be SOOOOOO grateful if someone could point me in the right direction, or give me a website of some sort to tell me where I can find classical music of hot modern songs.
Thanks soooo much to those who reply. You have no idea how much it means to me.
(tomorrow is our 5th year anniversary, and I want to surprise her with this special gift)
Sincerely,
Chris
another good string quartet besides vitamin string quartet is hampton string quartet. they both do popular songs. i really enjoy it... they have some jimi hendrix stuff :)
