I'd love to answer anybody's questions, but I'll usually avoid the ones about friends or relationships because those tend to bore me. :) I am knowledgable in a variety of topics, specifically fashion, etiquette, and questions about spirituality
/religion. Proper grammar and spelling is * sOoOo freekin hAwTt*.
But anyhow, I will try to answer every question as best as I can. I can't promise, however, to sugar-coat things or tell you what you want to hear, or rid my answers of any sarcasm, but I'll try. :)
I am a strong Christian that likes to study other religions, so I can better see eye-to-eye with people who have different opinions than my own. I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be, so please, never take any of my answers too personally. :)
In my spare time, I love playing the piano, listening to folk/indie music, doing volunteer work, writing, studying Spanish, learning about fashion and make-up, and acting competitively.

Say your spouse dies and goes to "Heaven". You learn to cope and marry again. Then you and your new spouse somehow die (whomever first, it doesn't matter), but you both go to "Heaven". Now you're there with two martial partners. How is your time divided? Or how does that work? Can you love them both? Can you "be with" them both? Will they know of each other's existence?
There obviously isn't a right or wrong answer, so all opinions welcome and appreciated. (link)
|
Well, there IS a right answer, we just don't know it. Only God does. "Heaven", as you called it, is the place where the people who choose to accept Jesus Christ as their savior can live in peace with Him and without sin or sadness. Basically, you're there to love God and live with him eternally, because that's what you chose. Way better than the other option, if you ask me. So if your sole focus is on loving God in heaven with other believers and without sin, I don't think you would have to choose on loving people, not loving people, etc. because heaven would only revolve around the most important relationship, that with God, than with earthly relationships. Basically, I think that you would not have to choose and everyone could live peacefully together because of their loyalty to God. That's my opinion, anyway. :) BTW, I think that Orpheus may be onto something there.

im really in to witch craft so i was readding this thing about this girl who did a love spell on this guy i think it was called "Chicken soup" where you plant a flower and you give it this type of soup (i dont know if its chicken) but i cant find it find it does any body know about that spell thanx (link)
|
Planting flowers? Feeding them soup? Last time I checked that had absolutely nothing to do with getting a boy to like you. Witch craft is dangerous, not to mention a bunch of BS. Talking to a guy, getting to know him, and going out with him is much simpler, and you'll save $5 on materials and supplies. :)
Sorry, not the answer you wanted, I know. I'm okay with a low rating!

I have the best friends ever... but the only problem is they ONLY party, get drunk, and do drugs. I on the other hand dont and dont want too. I know it would be fun to go to a party and get drunk. But my last experience was horrible and i want to party sometime but im afriad i'll have another bad experience and regret it. (also haven't drank any alcohol in over a year) I don't think my friends find me fun because id rather sit home then go out and party. should i try to party a few times or just do what i usually do and spend time home? (link)
|
Your friends may be nice people, but the truth is, they're pulling you down. You say you'd rather sit home than party, but now you're thinking of going out and getting drunk with them? Sounds like they're effecting you more than you would like.
I don't know your age, but I'm assuming you're under 21. If that's the case, then not only is drinking illegal (as well as doing drugs), but it will cause people to lose respect for you, not trust you, and if you're caught, land you in some serious trouble with the law. Besides, you clearly don't enjoy it, so why force yourself to drink just to please your friends? Be selfish. Do what you want to do. It's your life, you have the right to choose not to screw it up. Who cares if your friends don't think you're fun? Find some new friends. Not only do you want to be assosciated with these people who have no regard for their safety, others' safety, or the law, but you need to be aware of how your decisions could affect your life too.
Not trying to sound preachy, just saying it like it is. :) Good luck!

So I have been singing for years. You know.. for fun? Nothing serious so I don't think I'm a good singer.
My friend, I always thought had a better singing voice & she's in theater .. gets the lead parts and singing parts.
So I go to her for advice about singing and I told her how great she was at it.
Well, she sang something for me & sent it to me in a wav.
And it isn't her best singing.. at all.. she was out of tune and i dont know how to respond to her. it's not her best work.. but she wants an answer.
I can send you the link and maybe you can come up with something nice but helpful to say ?
it's not horrible.. i just don't know how to say that needs some work on it.. because I'm not a great singer. I'm a bit flat so.. if I tell her or imply how she's not that great.. it would be kinda stupid? Because I'm no better than her.
Help?
She's going to sing at her theater but i don't want her to embarrass herself or get hurt.. (link)
|
I would give her the benefit of the doubt. Even if you don't mean it, say something like "I've heard you sing a lot better than that before, to be honest ... maybe the quality of the recording is bad?" Or, if she has a sense of humor, then you can hint at it in a joking way. But usually, I find the best thing for me is to always make yourself look bad. You could say something like, "Well I don't have nearly the experience you have, but something sounds a little flat to me in this song" or something like that. Whatever you do, don't start your critique off with "Don't take this personally, but ... " or "No offense, but ...", because those really sound insincere.
But I guess, just put yourself in her shoes. If you were about to audition for a big show, would you want someone to be honest with you and tell you you sound horrible, or sugar-coat it? It's just a matter of what you think your friend would take the best. Good luck. :)

What type or brand of jeans will make my butt look smaller?
thanxs
(link)
|
I don't know of any specific brands, but darker washes are always more slimming, and make sure you don't get a pair with bleaching or tinting on the butt/back of thighs. Larger, flat pockets (no flaps or buttons) that have little or no decoration (some fancy stitching is fine, but no rhinestones :) ... ) should do the trick too. Good luck. :)

i want to get my eyebrows waxed but i dont know how to ask my mom to take me because i dont want her to think its weird or anything and i dont want to do it and people at school be like noticing alot and be staring or anything or ask me why i look different because i have never done it before. what should i do? and when i go what will they do like what is the process and how is the shape of them picked? because i want something not totally noticeable i want it to be suttle... do i pick or tell the person or do they pick for me? thanks! (link)
|
I'd say something to your mom like what Holldior suggested. Say something like, "Mom, since I've never really taken care of my eyebrows before, I was wondering if we could go to a salon and have them shaped so I know how to do it right." Getting your eyebrows waxed isn't as a big of a deal as you might think... I remember freaking out about it in middle school too and not wanting to ask my mom. :) It's good to have a professional show you the ropes the first time too, I've seen many eyebrow disasters before. :) One girl shaved her's off completely in 7th grade!
Anyhow... it's good to have your eyebrows groomed, and you're right, you want it to look natural, not overdone. The person at the salon will generally know how to do it properly and for your face type. I would just clarify with them before hand that you want them looking very natural and not too thin or over-shaped. If you want to, you could even clip out a magazine picture of someone whose eyebrows you like. May seem weird, but better safe then sorry, right? Just remember, if you have larger facial features, you want your eyebrows larger to be proportional with them. (And same for smaller features.) Good luck! :)
|
okay this might be a weird question lol. i have really dark features. everyone thinks im either spanish, greek, or something like italian, but i'm not. my skin tone is very tan, so basically im tan the whole year and black in the summer. i was reading an article about eyebrows & for awhile now noticed that a lot of my friends & just girls in general have pencil thin eyebrows. i pictured myself with them, not good at all. since i have such dark features, small light eyebrows would probably look really bad. my eyebrows aren't really thick & definately not manly, but theyre thicker then a lot of girls that get them done. they aren't sticking out all over, pretty well done actually. i never got them fixed or anything because i truly think i would look bad since my features. plus, my hair is very long, somewhat thick, and straight now. it just wouldn't look right! any ideas or suggestions??
thanks!! (link)
|
Your eyebrows should always be proportional to your facial features. Larger features ... larger eyebrows. Fortunately for you, pencil thing, over-tweezed eyebrows are out, and stronger, more natural looking brows are in. You never knew there were trends for eyebrows, did you? ;)
However, it's good to get them groomed every once in awhile. Either at home or in a salon, tweeze stray hairs around & between the eyebrows, trim if necessary, and clean up your arches. (Arch should be natural, not "rainbow" looking, and arch right above your pupil.) Hope that helps. :)

So I saw this magazine and it said
Mary Kate .. anorexic. 80 pounds.
So.. does that make me anorexic too or what?
Is 80 pounds anorexic?
I thought 70 pounds was anorexic.
I eat a lot. I weight around 80 pounds and I'm 5 feet tall. But if 80 pounds is an anorexic number or whatever, would I get the automatic label of anorexic from doctors?
(link)
|
You don't have to be a certain weight to be considered anorexic. Some people are naturally thin or have health problems that make them underweight. Anorexia is simply depriving yourself of food in order to lose weight.
If you eat normal amounts of healthy food (as opposed to eating celery every meal), you aren't anorexic. You may just have a super fast metabolism or small bones. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Your Body Mass Index can determine if you have a healthy body weight as well. They may need to put you on supplements or maybe you have a thyroid problem, but anyways, I wouldn't jump to any huge conclusions without talking to a doctor first. Good luck! :)

hi..
im going to college next year.. and what's bugging me right now is i don't have enough money to shop for the clothes i want..
can you give me tips in wise shopping and what to shop?? (link)
|
If I were you, I would start out just getting basic pieces. (One or two pairs of good jeans, a neutral coat, solid colored tops, dress pants, and a black dress.) These things go with anything, and are easy to dress up or down. Once you have those (you might have a lot of them already), see if your friends will trade or let you borrow some of their accessories. Me & my friends love swapping clothes with each other, and a lot of the time half of my outfit isn't even mine! :)
Also, check out coupons for stores. In the Sunday paper, a lot of department stores will offer 15% off coupons, and shoe stores will have buy one get one 1/2 off deals. Also, some stores like American Eagle will have rewards programs, so you can earn "points" every time you shop there for gift cards. You never know. I just bought some clothes on sale at Express Christmas weekend and got a free $15 gift card!
Also, check out the sales, especially in stores you usually wouldn't go into. Part of shopping is having an open mind and not getting into a "style rut." :) For example, I went into Foley's the other day (I would never think to shop there) and found an adorable black sweater for $9! Dig around, and try things on that you usually wouldn't be drawn to. Also, most stores' biggest sales are after Thanksgiving, after Christmas, in the spring (usually end of April) and at the end of summer.
Also, try not to buy in outfits. (I.E. - I bought this top so I need to buy a skirt to go with it... $$$.) Instead, focus on buying more neutral / basic pieces that you can mix & match with other things in your closet for different looks. For accessories, check out resale shops. I've gotten a lot of cute necklaces and purses from second hand stores that were dirt cheap. You just have to clean 'em up a little bit sometimes.
Hope that helps you somewhat ... let me know if you have any other questions. :)

I am the worst shopper! I can spend like 2 hours at 1 store then end up buying like 2-3 items. I just cant prioritize. When we're shopping for pants, I get a few pants, and then get some shirts too. Ughhh, also I went shopping for ripped jeans and army pants... where can I find good ones? Delias has good jeans overall.. the ones at A&E suck and i dunno about the others. also, where are some good (not too expensive. not like american eagle, with their clearances cause the stuff on sale probably isnt that good looking anyway. and the clothes dont really look that great) clothes overall in general for a 13 year old girl? My sense of style is like.. cute, preppy, sporty, sexy, laid-back, trendy i guess, sophisticated, not sluttyish but not like.. boring, and not too weird but not TOO mainstream, etc. Thanks alot!
So basically, can you help me with my shopping problem? I mean, I love to shop and all, but when I do this I end up not getting much because we waste time and my mom doesn't want to buy the stuff I pick out. Because they are expensive and not clearance (the clearance stuff wasnt good!) and like.. full priced. apparently i have expensive taste, but all i really want is something good to wear. at school, at parties, at home, etc. also, do you think wearing victoria's secret pink is too much for my age? i love those pants with "pink" on the butt but i dunno, haha. also, are they expensive, too? and do you still get that cute little pink dog with your purchase? XD also, with suggestions on a good store for me. oh yeah, I live in New Jersey, if that helps.
For more info, the stores I shop at now are Kohls, Walmart (I dislike it, but sometimes we gotta get clothes from there), Mandees, A&E (well I only got a pair of pants), Delias... thats pretty much it, for clothing. Oh, and JC Penny, but we cant go there often cause the store is faraway.
ooh and another thing. I'm african, so I have a big butt. Its hard sometimes to find good jeans because they can fit at the bottom then get a little funky at the top. even with a belt.. I only have like 1 pair of jeans that fit perfectly. also, any good (cheap) shoe stores? other than payless, hah.
1 more thing.. (-talks too much-) my sister has large feet, size 13 to be exact, i feel bad for her. where can she get some good shoes other than ordering them?
thanks thanks again and sorry it was really long but it had to be specific, heh.

Whew! That's a lot. I'm going to try to answer all of your questions ... but if I leave one out, don't hate me. :)
1) Good stores for 13 year olds:
I love Old Navy. They're everywhere, too. It used to have a bad reputation for ugly clothes (haha) but they actually have a lot of really cute stuff there now, and it's cheap! They have AMAZING sales also. Some other good and inexpensive stores are Macy's, Buckle, Wet Seal, Forever 21, Aeropostale, and Rue 21.
2) Problem with prioritizing:
Go in with a list and take a friend with you. If you need, say, a black sweater and jeans, only go in stores that you know might have them. That way, you can't get distracted. (That's where your friend comes in to keep you focused!) If you go in a store and see they don't have what you need, move on to the next one. That way you'll finish your shopping a lot quicker, and you can have time left ove to shop for fun.
3) How to shop clearance:
It might be different from store to store, but I've found a bunch of great pieces on sale at A&E! It might take a little digging, but I've been able to get a mini skirt there for $7, a white lacy tank top for $4, and tennis shoes for $8! Also, lots of stores offer coupons and rewards programs, so take advantage of those too! Don't be deceived by stores that you wouldn't usually shop at, that's where some of the best bargains are at! (B/C a lot of other 13 year old girls are going to think the same thing as you ... Who shops there?! So they might have a lot of cute things on clearance that they're trying to get rid of b/c no one's bought them... get the idea?)
4) Victoria's Secret Pants:
Hmm... I tend to be more modest in my taste, but I'm not crazy about those Pink pants on anyone, let alone a 13 year old. I'd let that trend go and not be a part in it. :) (Plus, I hear they're expensive.)
5) Big butt, small waist:
I feel ya on this one. :) A lot of girls have this problem, and finding the perfect fitting pair of jeans can be practically impossible. Find a pair of jeans that you like and that fit your butt, and take them to a tailor to be altered around the waist. They can take in the fabric for usually under $15. Maybe a little expensive, but you can wear jeans with anything and they'll fit you nicely.
If that doesn't work, check out the GAP's jeans. Those can also be a little pricey if you don't get them on sale, but again, jeans are basics, so it's okay to "invest" in a good pair. Their "curvy style" jeans are made just for this problem. I don't have any of these, but my friend has a pair and swears by them are the Apple Bottom jeans.. I forget who makes them but some rapper. :) Those are very expensive, but hopefully you have a birthday coming up. :) They're perfect for larger butts with smaller waists, and they're cute!
6) Size 13 Shoes:
Check out this website: http://www.zappos.com/n/es
They have literally thousands of shoes on this site in all different price ranges, and you can search by your size. (All the way to a size 18!) They also have spaces for you to specifiy price, width, style, color, and heel height. That should make it pretty easy for your sister to find the right size shoes!
Hope that helped you some, and good luck! :)

well, i don't know about where you live, but i've noticed lately all these girls have been wearing these tan ( i assume suede, i'm not sure though ) boots. they're not like snow boots or anything, just nice little boots ( but now uggs ). and i see they all have them in tan, and i want a pair in black and i know black pairs exist cause i've seen other girls wear them too.
i just have no idea where these girls are getting them. so my question is; does anybody know any stores that sell boots like that or any sites or anything?
black suede boots that are flat ( no heels or anything ).
if anybody can help, i'd really appreciate it.
i've been able to find a bunch on ebay so far, but that's it. (link)
|
I know they have some boots like the ones you described at Payless! My friend just got a pair from there. I'm usually not crazy about their shoes, since some of them can look cheap, but hers are really cute. I'm not sure how much they were, but they were a black suede-like material that kind of bunched at the top and were flat. I didn't see them online, but they probably have them in the stores.

If you go to that website, they have a whole bunch of flat boots. I just got the Chinese Laundry ones in chocolate brown and I love them!
Here are some more... (Under $100)

Hopefully you can find something you like on here. Good luck! :)

My family is far from rich. My mom and dad are both on social security. I only have one pair of jeans and it's emarrasing. I have to wear the same pair of jeans every other school day and everybody notices. I've had these pair of jeans for over a year now and they are so worn out. The insides of them are so holy. And they are so washed out. I have no money to go out to buy any jeans. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help? (link)
|
Talk to your friends and see if any of them have an old pair of jeans that don't fit them anymore that they could give you. Or you could do a trade! Swap clothes / accessories with your friends. Maybe you could trade a purse to wear a friend's jeans for a day.
Also, don't be afraid to check out resale shops. There are some more "high class" ones out there now, like Plato's closet, that sell cheap name brand jeans. If you have any old clothes that you don't like or have outgrown, take those in. They'll pay you for your old clothes (if they're in good condition) and you have money for some new jeans!
Good luck! :)

anyone know where to get the piano music for the song "hallelujah"? any version, doesn't matter (link)

Do a search under Yahoo Groups for Rufus Wainright. They usually have free, printable sheet music.

ok so, i sorta have a big nose. it's not HUGE! but it's not small or anything. so i was just wondering if there was anything to do that would sort of make my nose seem less notciable, like for example, a hairstyle or something?? my hair is naturally curly and thick, and i wear it down like that, and i also straiten it. it just has layers and angles. so yeah =] thanks in advance! (link)
|
If you go to a professional make-up artist they can teach you how to countour your make-up to make your nose look smaller. You can work wonders with light-colored concealer and bronzer. :)

i don't know what to do anymore. I go to this really really small school, there's only about 75 girls in the whole grade. It's an all-girls school. I've been to this school since I was in second grade. But, hate the school with a passion. I am not asking for much. I just want to transfer to a school that's cheaper. Well, atleast not for my mom, because I am on scholorship here. But, I don't even really think this school is a real school. It is like a pretend school. Personally, I have not learned anything and the teachers, since we have laptops at school, spend their time shopping online, and leave us, the students, to just do work. However, I can't do work if someone does not teach me the material. The school that I want to go to is also all-girls. Like, there are these four schools that all related. They are two all girl schools, and two all boy schools, so we kind of mingle with each other. But, my mom isn't giving into the idea of me transfering. She says that the people are still going to be pains no matter where I go. However, what she doesn't understand is that it is not the people. It is the institution, where I am not learning. Some people would think that it would be a dream not to have real class, but I don't think so, because I am being tested and expected to know all of this information that is not being taught to me. I have even tried explaining this to my mother, but she still doesn't nudge. Sometimes she gets really mad, and she says that I'm not even finishing the school year at my school, and I get all exited, and then she doesn't do anything. i don't want to bring it up to her anymore. My only other options are to get expelled by either doing something against the rules, which is out of the question, and failing myself out of school, which is also out of the question. No other schools would want me if I got kicked out of school for these reasons. My other option is to talk to the headmistress and tell her not to give me financial aid, which is the only way I can stay there. However, I don't want to hurt my mother, and I am a little nervous about doing that, but I have to work quickly. The enterance exam is soon, and most private schools in miami don't accept seniors. So, I have to apply as a junior. I am not sure about this school, but I just want to apply right away. All I want is a chance to try this. But, I want to find a way that I can show my mom, without actually having to talk to her about school, because I don't want to upset her anymore (link)
|
I would just be honest with your mom. You've obviously thought out all the reasons for your transfer, and the consequences of not transfering, so it's not like you're just being irrational. I would say something like, "Mom, I've started to think about my future, and I would really like to go to college and get a good job, but I'm not sure that this school is preparing me enough for it. I would like your support to do this, and maybe we could go talk to the headmistress together and discuss our options."
Then, I would see if you could arrange to visit the school you're wanting to attend, either you or you + your mom, for one or two days. You may find out it's not much different from the school you're currently at, and decide that homeschooling or public school would be a better choice for you. Or you may love it and be able to tell your mom specific reasons why this is the school for you.
Maybe that will help you ... Good luck! :)

I have a problem with all the jeans i buy! in about 6 months time after i buy them, they start to rip at ususlly the crotch part. I cant keeping buying jeans over and over again. Am i over wearing them? What can i do to get rid of the problem?
-Thanks! (link)
|
Are you wearing them too tight? Try buying your next pair of jeans a size bigger than you would normally wear or choosing a more relaxed fit. Besides, super tight jeans are unflattering and trouser jeans are in so it's a win-win. :)
When you try them on, make sure they don't pull across the thighs. That could be part of it too. I'm not really sure if washing them less will do anything, but it's worth a try! One other thought ... I don't know what brand of jeans you usually buy, but maybe it's time to invest in a higher qualit pair that are going to last much longer. (Gap, Banana Republic, etc.) They'll stay nicer longer, and it'll probably end up being the same price as say, buying 3 pairs of jeans that rip within months of buying them. Good luck! :)

I have crash on this guy for a while. I asked him out the first time, he said yes, but cancelled on me on the day we suppose to go out. And second time, he asked me out, but cancelled out again. Now he appolized and said let's go out next week. Am I going to say yes?
I don't want to show how easy I am that he can just cancel on me all the time without considering my feeling, but in the same time, I do want to go out with him.... What should I do? (link)
|
That's hard! I've been on both the canceler/canceled on side before, so I know what it's like. Did he give a reason for canceling? If he didn't, I'd back off from him a little bit. But obviously, if it was something big like being sick or having to leave town suddenly, then it's more understandable.
I would be honest with him and say something like, "I think you're a great guy, but when you cancel at the last minute it tells me that you seeing me isn't important to you. I'm not sure that I can trust you, and I need a guy who is more dependable than that."
See what he says. If he offers a sincere apology, I would give this guy another chance. If he blows you off or gets defensive, he's probably not worth it.
Good luck! :)

this might sound kind of weird, but you know the Ramon Noodle soup? (chicken flavored) well i eat the seasoning inside (the silver packet) lol. is this good for me? i know its not entirely healthy but will this affect my health and weight in any way? thanks! (link)
|
Wow comforting to know I'm not the only Ramen Noodle freak out there! I eat the noodles straight from the bag. haha
Other than being loaded with sodium, like the guy below me said, it doesn't have really any nutritional value. This is so weird but maybe you could like sprinkle it on something with more nutritional value? Haha that would be pretty crazy... So yeah, I wouldn't exactly replace your meals with these, I don't know if you do or not, but indulging in some good Ramen Noodle spices only once in awhile won't kill ya. ;)

I am really into acting and i really want to become an actress. but i dont do drama or anything like that but next year i am. I want to become a famous actress and star in movies and tv shows and things like that. but i dont know where start. My school dosnt have drama this year but next year they will but i having second thoughts about taking it and i dont know why. So my question is what would i have to do to become a famous actress?
thank you so much (link)
|
Wow! If people knew how to become a famous actor/actress... more people would probably get there, don't you think?
Honestly, there is no sure way. Most famous people had parents or relatives that were famous at some point, or they landed roles at a very young age. (Think Mary-Kate & Ashley).
But that shouldn't discourage you from wanting to pursue acting! I know lots of small-scale actors who love their job and would tell you acting is acting, whether you're starring in a Oscar-nominated film or in a community play. But for now, I would suggest seeing lots of shows around your community and watching movies and take notes / observe the actors' techniques and learn from them until your school's drama program gets off the ground. Once you get some experience, audition for a few school or community shows. But for the moment, act because you like to, and remember, there are plenty of extremely talented actors out there that probably haven't even landed a role as an extra in a movie. Don't give up, but realize, very few people make it big in this industry.

what do you think makes someone classy, sophisticated, or elegant?
what about their apperance or attitude makes them seem that way?
i want to be classy.
im talking jennifer aniston/kelly rowan classy.
so what do you guys think? (link)
|
First of all, I LOVE this question! Not to generalize, but people this day and age, for the most part, are anything but classy. Sometimes I wish we could just go back to the 40s and 50s where class was in style.
However, when I think of "classy", I think more of your behavior/personality, and "classic" as being more of an appearance, like Jackie Onassis or Audrey Hepburn.
So I'll give my opinion on how to be both. :)
To be classy, you have to be poised, lady-like, respectful, polite, put-together, and modest. Think the First Lady or your great-grandmother. :) Being classy is NOT promiscuity, drinking, smoking, or cursing.
But as far as appearance is concerned, when I think of someone as having a classic style, I think of modest clothing that is simple but feminine-- hair neatly done, pearls, black skirts/dresses, heels, that sort of thing. But I don't think you have to generalize it as just that. Anything that is timeless and not overly trendy is classic.
Hope that helps. :)
