I apply to places and I even go to the places to follow up my application and they always say they are going go call me but they never do, is it better to be persistant and keep asking them to follow up my application? or should I wait?
and would you like to share any interview tips? thanks (link)

Follow up is a good thing - as long as you aren't starting to appear desperate, always appear confident and a little competative.
As far as interviewing tips... Dress one position higher than the position you are applying for. Smile (not only will smiling make the interviewer believe you are confident, but smiling will make you feel more confident). Answer questions in full sentences, even repeat part of the question now and again, especially if it is a two part question. Answer questions as if they are a story, and you have the best story to tell. There is no such thing as a "yes or no" answer, always expand at least a little. Thank the interviewer for thier time - then a day or two later, send them a thank you card or letter, and say that you look forward to hearing from them soon. The more times you put yourself on thier minds, the more they will remember you over other applicants, and the more likely you will be chosen over someone else with similar qualifications. Also, make in impression on someone higher up than the interviewer if ever possible.

I've learned that guys want respect and to be supported/appreciated by thier loved ones. They also want the genuine truth. Why don't you tell him what you want to tell him? Tell him what is on your heart, what you like about him, what you appreciate about him. The words you give him should be your words, the words you truly are speaking, not saying because other people say you should say them.

When I first started my diet I was eating right and exercising. I lost 25 pounds. Now I'm getting tired of doing the same thing everyday and I dont know what else to do. I did cardio 2 times a day, I ran, etc. Sometimes I just dont do it anymore. I get a craving for chocolate chips and thats it. People in my house buy it and when I see it I want it, when I first started my diet I was eating on junk and only having 1200 calories, now I eat a little over 1200. And I only lost a pound last week and I was losing more than that before. I dont eat chocolate all day. I'll just get a bar of chocolate and a small bag of chips and eat one and the rest of the day the food is healthy, I wasnt doing this in the beginning. I already want something sweet everyday and I'm scared i'll gain the weight back after the diet. I cant go to the gym. I get tired of doing the same exercise and eating the same, what can I do?

There's a difference between a "diet" and a "healthy diet". If you just want to lose weight, it only comes down to burning more calories than you consume - and it doesn't matter where the calories are coming from or what activities you do to burn them off. Now, if you're looking into being healthy, not just shedding pounds, then find a diet that includes all the food groups that also satisfies the taste buds - and by the way, if you like dark chocolate, its actually healthy for your heart, so go for it. As far as exercise goes, try doing outdoor activities. Its what keeps my attention and motivation - walking/jogging/running/riding bike in different locations, seeing different things, etc. Going to the park, playing sports. Its more captivating to most people to do things outside, rather than at the gym or at home where it starts to feel like a tiring chore in the routine.

My summer program has a talent show every year. It is not individual people but ONLY as a group so we can compete against 7 different camps. We really want to win but we need something we can do as a group that is a shoe-in for first place... what should we do?

You should do a parody of a music video by the Spice Girls or a boy band or something :) I've seen that sort of act win a thousand times! (Ok, not a thousand, but every time I see it, it comes in either first or second)

I am going swimming tomorrow but I started my period today, a few days earlier than usual. I absolutely refuse to wear tampons for health reasons so please do not just give me that suggestion. No tampons for me, thank you!
My family has been planning this trip to the water park for weeks now and I can't just back out of it right before we go. I thought that maybe I could wear a pad in the pool and everything would be alright. I'm almost 15 and I thought I could maybe meet some boys at the water park this summer so I really want to go and have fun.
Then, I got to thinking, won't the sticky stuff on the bottom of it come loose in the pool water? The adhesive part. I really don't have any experience with this and I really do want to go swimming tomorrow and hang out with some people.
Does anybody know if a pad will come off in the water and float around. That would be embarrassing...
(Category: Menstrual Pad Etiquette...right? ;) Haha.) (link)

Oh no! Don't wear a pad in the water! I thought that that was a good idea in high school, then got the embarassment of my life! When it gets completely wet, like in a pool or lake or something, it fills with water and expands, like one big wet heavy diaper. Anyone looking would be able to see it through your swimsuit, and your suit will hang and be uncomfortable and very unattractive (luckily when I made that mistake, I had shorts on) So, thats a bad idea. It would be better to use nothing, if its really light, like barely spotting.
I've never used it before, but they make this spray thats a douch, its supposed to dry you up or something - I'd say try that if you refuse to use a tampon for even just a few hours while you're swimming.

So, my boyfriend is trying to get a job. He applied to places and I asked him to follow up with some phone calls to the places he applied to. It's worked in the past for me. I actually went in to one place I worked a few times before they considered me. I called and e-mailed the place I'm working now MANY times before I got a call. I just think that it's better than sitting patiently and waiting for an answer. And you can always get a better answer if you make an extra effort. However, he just thinks it's the worst idea ever. We fight about this and I'm second guessing myself. Am I crazy and way too persistent or have other people done this as well? Or are you an employer that has gotten follow up calls? What's your opinions on this?
Thanks (link)
|
Well, I think it depends on what kind of job it is. Generally a follow up call should come after an interview, but if someone isn't interviewed yet, then probably not. However... I heard a speaker on this subject before. He said that after an interview, like a day or two later, send in a thank you card to the interviewer at the company, or even someone higher in command. Also, they said to send applications to as high in the top of the company rather than just turning them into the front desk. Making an impression at the top will help you land a job far easier than taking the road most commonly traveled.
So if your boyfriend had been interviewed, follow up calls are a good idea, but not continuous calls that would be overwhelming and desperate sounding of course. The idea is to make them remember you, look back at the interview and think "Hey, We liked that applicant" Being fresh in an employer's mind will give you an edge.

I heard that you get more color when you're sun tanning while it's cloudy outside. I've searched all over the internet and can't find out if this is true or not. If anyone knows if this is true please tell me! I'll rate high. Thanks in advance!
P.S. Always use sunscreen! (link)

Actually, cloudiness or sunshine doesn't make a difference. Tanning/burning is caused by UV rays, which easily penetrate cloud cover. When the UV's are strong, you'll get color, be it tan or a strong red, regardless of the clouds.
