If somebody kills a pregnant woman, then why would they ever be charged for two murders, instead of one? It seems to be in conflict with laws that permit an abortion. A woman can legally choose whether or not the baby can grow, develop, and live within her. If somebody makes that same choice by killing the mother, then wouldn't it make sense that only murder was made, not two? I'm not arguing for or against abortion, but rather don't see how these two laws can remain in effect when they contradict each other. Any information would be helpful, thank you.

With out getting into a debate about abortion, the charging of two murders instead of one is just a stunt that the prosecution uses to make headlines and bring more drama to a court room. Saying a person killed a woman and her baby (born or unborn) pulls on the emotional strings of a jury which is sometimes necessary to get the conviction. The penalty for murder is the same whether you kill one person or two. The only time it matter is if the two murders happened in different circumstances and then you can be convicted twice with sentences to run concurrent or sequencial which can double the time spent in prison before possibility of parole.

Q: i really like this guy at my school. i am a senior and i never had a boyfriend before ...and all my friends think that the guy i like is just playing with my head and he really just horny.and he will never go out with a black girl..last week one of my friend as him if he like me and he said he doesn'e know( what does it mean) .i don't want ask him if he like me bc if he said no , i wouldn't be able to face him next year during track. what should i do ??/

If you're a senior, why would you be worried about seeing him next year? Won't you be graduating?

Talk to him , be friends first, if he's not wanting to be your friend, he not worth being your boyfriend.

Q: I'm 146lbs, and 5'5.
I'm looking for a way to be 130lbs by the end of the summer.

and then i was planning on working out for an hour a day, which would include, running/tredmill for forty minutes, 50 jumping jacks, "core" excersises like crunches, and then Lifting weights.

How fast will i see Results?
Even if I don't loose the EXACT weight i want, I want to at least have a waist line of 34inches. Its 39 right now.

Think I can do it?
and How healthy is that for me?

How fast will results happen? It depends on how your metabolism reacts. You will likely lose some right away and then your body will "plateau" and the loss will stop but don't give up, because during that time your body will build muscle which will help you lose more weight faster later on.

As for your diet. I would mix it up with more vegetables, like broccoli, spinach, corn, and a couple times a week I would infuse some good proteins in there too like nuts & beans.

Conventionally is going to mean they are tall, well built, good hair, with no majorly outstanding features like a big nose, or a weak chin.

2. if its too wet , try swallowing once in a while.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but King Arthur(of the round table etc.) was a fictional character of a mix of several of the monarch of England in the Dark Ages. There is no Camelot, and Lancelot & Guenevere were also made up. If you want to know about castles and stuff start your google search with Castles and Feudalism.

Sounds like he's just as afraid of making the first move as you are. It's 2007, if you like him, make the first move. Guys are afraid of rejection, or they would move on everygirl they see, if you make the first move you've bought his loyalty by making him feel wanted.

Q: I had this hudge crush on this guy, let's call him "Bob". He is really amazing! We are really good friends now. Don't be in such a hurry for a boyfriend. Hang out with Bob, have a good time and if nothing happens then you still have a good friend. Maybe take a litle time to get to know Jerry better before making him your "official" boyfriend. It seems you need to know someone to be attracted to them so stop trying to rush into things. Cherish your frienship with Bob, bf come and go but good real friends are forever.

I am selling land in a different state other than my primary residence that was gifted to me over a period of years for $285,000. (no gift tax)(no depreciation)

My Capital gain is $95,000. I understand I will pay capital gains tax on that amount at a rate of 15%. I also have a substantial income from my job and my husbands job.

My questions; What part of the sale of the land will count as income? The entire amount of the sale? The amount minus the capital gain tax? Or only the gain?

I am aware I can deduct the legal expense for the sale.

Since this was a gift, I believe you will be taxed on the full value but I may be wrong.
Since the land was gifted to you over a period of years this may be a tricky tax situation. It maybe that you will be taxed on the amount the land has appreciated in value but it is truly worth the money to get a tax accountant to figure this out for you. It shouldn's cost more than $100 and even less if you include it with your regular taxes for that year.

Secondly there is the One time option to opt out of Capital Gaines. If this is all going to be cash when the sale happens this might be something you are interested in. Also there are some very good investment options that you should look into to help you avoid some of the taxes.

I highly recommend a financial advisor.

If they serve you and you don't do anything dumb(like try to drive or vandalize stuff) there won't be a problem. Even thought you're a tourist you're still your parents responsibility, if you do get caught they will just take you to your parents and chastise them for letting you out of their sight.

Q: Hello. I had no clue what category this would go under. I was going to look to see if anyone else has asked this before, but I wasn't sure where they would've put it. My lips are burning really bad right now and they usually don't this much. I use just regular chapstick a lot throughout the day and I put a lot of it on. I use the mint, cherry and strawberry kind. Sometimes the regular kind too. I don't know if there's any chapstick or lip gloss that has made your lips really soft before, to where they're not chapped often or even burning. Welcome to the double standard. His son cannot come home pregnant you can. You need to sit down and have a talk with your stepdad. Explain that you can do pretty much anything you want with a boy during school hours so grounding you isn't going to change what you do with your boyfriend and you feel he should worry about his son getting his girlfriend pregnant more than you getting pregnant because you are much more careful than his son is.

Did you notice how many times I used the word pregnant. You should use it that many times with your stepdad. Tell him he would hate to see himself as a grandfather right now out of spite from you and stupidity from his son.

So, I'm not very hairy like everywhere, but on my arms its SUPER HAIRY. Some of the hair is over an inch!! I don't want to shave it bcause it'll grow back dark and thick. But I don't know what to do!! I definetly do not want the hairy arms i have now.

you're born with what you're born with, but its a lie that if you shave it will grow back thicker and darker. Hair on your arms grows very slowly so you could shave and there would be nothing visible for months.

Q: i'm warning you that it's going to be long, but if you like mystries, and are good at solving them, by all means, help me!! my boyfriend and i are very close, so it's not like this is something that's not strange. it's very very strange. we are very, very close and we talk on the phone every night. i'm even friends with his mom and his sister and like his parents love me. so, let me start from where i began to worry.

there's this guy who was kind of bothering me, let's call him john. i told my boyfriend about him because since before, john and his little group were really at it. So, my bf isn't to comfortable with them bothering me, so he wanted to go talk to john at school, because they go to the same school (all boys, i go to an all girls). so i got even more worried because i figured that you know, no one would try to stop him in terms of the students because the guys would like encourage him. so, what happends is that on monday, my cousin, who's his best friend, goes to talk to john and tells him to back off because if not he would get it, so then i got really scared because everyone was involved, so now it's my cousin too!!

on wednesday i didn't get to talk to him because i was doing a project and i got home late. and on thursday, he was running for wrestling because he had a tournament and had to loose three pounds. but, i know he wasn't going to miss seeing me this weekend because i had a suprise for him ;), if you know what i mean. it's nothing bad, just something he didn't want to miss. so, i called him from my mom's phone on friday and he answered. and then, he left me a voicemail being like sweet you know. but, when i called him back and text him, he wouldn't answer. so, i'm beginning to worry because i don't know what's going on.

laws about pepper spray differ from state to state but your life and protection are more important that law in my opinion, I would get some pepper spray without looking into the legality of it in your jurisdiction, then if the worst happens and you have to use it, you can plead ignorance to the judge and likely get off with a warning but if worse comes to worse and you need to use it, what the law says is the least of your concerns.
