Hi all, I am a 26 year old Legal Consultant from New Jersey. I have a Law Degree, BA in Political Science, with a minor in Women Studies all from Rutgers University. I have been through many things in my life and dealt with all kinds of people. I open to topics from Spiritual Issues, Pregnancy, Eating Disorders, Friendships, Autoimmune diseases, etc. I am well versed. I do not claim to have all the answers and can only give advice based on experience of my own life and knowledge I've learned from others. I am trying to give back to people, as I've been fortunate to have had a great support system. Feel free to contact me :)

My friend (17) and I (17) want to go to get birth control. I have been reading on here and on plannedparenthood.com about the different kinds and the exam and all that good stuff. But I have found contradictory statements. How much money should my friend and I bring each for the total amount? (link)

I think planned parenthood requires you to have an exam before they will give you birth control. They generally use a sliding scale based on income, since I assume you are still in high school you likely do not make much money. If you call them in advance, I'm sure they will be able to give you a rough estimate of the cost.

i think my best friend likes my boyfriend. they are friends but she calls him all the time talks about him comstantly and flirts with him when im not around .. what do i do .. ive confronted her before and she denied it, but my other friends have noticed too. (link)

I suggest talking to your boyfriend. You can't change how she acts and if she likes him that's not going to change even if you talk to her. You need to find out how your boyfriend is reacting. If he doesn't notice, or blows her off then obviously he's only into you. If he's flirting back and giving her a reason to flirt more then maybe you need to move on.

i've had the same group of best friends for five years & i've recently lost them all because i tried to do the right thing. anyway, i decided that i don't need negative people in my life. sooo...i'm going to try & make new friends & i was wondering: what are some good conversation starters? It's not so much about starting conversations, I suggest getting involved in new activities and clubs. That way you find the kind of friends that you have a lot in common with!

Where in the Bible does it state that people shouldnt drink alcohol? Bible verses would be good. (link)

The key is moderation, not just in drinking but in all things. Jesus wants you to enjoy your life, thus all the scriptures of Joy; however, still living by his rules.
“Everyone that strives for the mastery is temperate in all things” (1 Cor. 9:25)
“Let your moderation be known unto all men” (Phil. 4:5)
I believe it is okay to drink, just not to get drunk.

Okay, so when I was 10 (I'm 26 now), I fell off my bike and broke my two front teeth straight across in half. My dentist put a bonding on each one, and it made them look a little too long, and over the years a small stain has started showing along the seam of one, but they work just fine as teeth and nobody really notices that they're not perfect. Now that I'm an adult I have another dentist who's recommended that I have the existing bonding (and what's left of the teeth) replaced with porcelain crowns... the length would be more natural, and they'd possibly use a brighter color and whiten the rest of my teeth to match it. It'd be more permanent and look better, but I'm really struggling with it because it seems like such a cosmetic thing to do and I've always fought against that sort of thing, it seems vain. Like, I'd NEVER have cosmetic surgery, so why do it for my teeth? I know I'm way overthinking this... most people would have had it done years ago. My teeth bug me but fixing them bugs me too. What would you recommend? (link)

I broke my front tooth on a slide when I was about 10 as well. I had bonding for years but had to keep having it replaced. Finally I consented to the crowns and I love it. I feel more comfortable biting into things and haven't had a problem since. I completely recommend it!
