Does anyone know if iMessage needs wifi to work because I have the new iPod touch and I have wifi I just want to know if I'm able to take it other places that don't have wifi and still use it.

I also have an IpodTouch. With the wifi you have you can use it and send messages and receive them. However, when you go somewhere without wifi you cannot send or receive ): You need wifi unless you have a hotspot thing or have an iphone.

if this is a texting app then yes ALL texting apps have to have wifi to get on as in no you will not be able to go places that don't have wifi. The only way you dont need wifi is if you have a data plan and no ipods dont have data plans so therefor no you cannot use it without wifi.
