Laptop keyboard and touchpad freezing

Question Posted Tuesday November 30 2010, 9:03 am

Okay so my laptop is an Acer Aspire 3660 and all going good until 2 hours ago my keyboard and mouse pad/touchpad keep freezing every couple of seconds for a few seconds. It's really annoying. I've tried scanning my laptop with Malwarebytes and came up with 3 infections all the same which is "Disabled.SecurityCentre" under the category "Registry data". I've tried System restore also and now i don't know what else to try. I don't use a plugin mouse either. Its done this before but only lasted like 10 minutes. this time it won't go away and it's really hard to type because the keyboard won't read all the keys unless i press them twice plus my mouse freezes(As I stated above.) Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

OK so when my computer starts messing up i totally just do everything i possibly can lol. k so lets try a few things.

-your computer may be freezing because it cant handle all of the things you are running at once or stored in your memory, so i would recommend downloading ccleaners from www.filehippo.com
-run the cleaner
-run the registry cleaner
-then go to tools
-go to uninstall and uninstall what you can spare
-go to start up (these are all the programs that start when you turn on your computer which ultimately slows the process down so...) Disable all the unnecessary ones that you have notices popping up, you can disable all of them if you want but i noticed on my list my audio device is listed so i left that one bcuz it controls my sound.
Restart see what happens
TRY THAT.
Doesnt work?

- You may need to update your drivers, i have found two websites that seemingly have all the drivers ready to download for your Acer Aspire 3660, i cant be the one to test them because i have an ibm thinkpad =) so here they are

Official ACER website:

Some other site i found it looks more simple though:

NOW, you mentioned you have already installed malwarebytes, try starting your computer in safe mode (by pressing usually F8 during boot up when the black screen comes up before the windows logo)and then running malwarebytes again. safe mode boots up your computer only. like... if you had a virus it wouldnt automatically start in safe mode. So if you had a virus that was hiding something bad in your computer everytime you ran Malwarebytes-- in safe mode the virus wont be awake so it cant shield itself. try all these things i absolutely hope it helps! =)
