Hi, I'm 17/f and I have occasional joint pain, particularly in my fingers. At first I thought it might be because of typing or handwriting, but right now my right index finger is in pain, and I have been reading a book all day, so that can't be the cause. I've had this for a while now, as far back as I can remember. Sometimes my entire leg will feel pain spontaneously. But again, this isn't very often. I'm pretty skinny, probably more than the average person, but I think I do eat enough food. My mom thought that I had a calcium deficiency so sometimes I would take calcium pills but I don't think it really helped. Besides, I probably consume just as much dairy as anyone else: I drink a lot of soy milk and I really like cheese. I looked up arthritis on Wikipedia and got some information, but I was wondering if anyone else might have had a personal experience with this. My grandmother on my father's side had arthritis in her old age, so maybe it is genetic? Thanks.

I went another time and they had an idea of what it was but off the top of my head i cannot remember what it was called but i had to take ibuprofen every 6 hours and eventually ended up stopping because it didn't seem to help but if you find out what it is you should let me know i am also skinny probably underweight to so maybe its that cause im 5'7 and 115lbs so maybe its because of the weight and i don't eat much food but i've grown so used to it that it seems normal. Just let me know if you figure anything out thankks :) [ mmm_Candy123's advice column | Ask mmm_Candy123 A Question ]
