seasonique/seasonale 16f im currently on some birthcontrol pill and I get my period once a month for about 5 days. I seen commericials on seasonique and seasonale, first off what is the difference between those two? and Im interested in switching to one of them so i can get my period once every three months. I want to know if anyone had any problems using any of the two or if the spotting was a lot and for how long? Also on the comercial they say there is no need for a period every month on the pill so do you think that is true?

Birth control pills work by manipulating hormone levels to cause a whole lot of changes in your reproductive tract to ensure that you can't get pregnant. While most birth control pills that I've heard of have inactive pills that you take at the end of your cycle, Seasonique doesn't give you any inactive pills (or periods) for three months.
The problem? If you're not good about taking your birth control responsively and you manage to get pregnant, you won't know you've missed a period until three months later. Your body would function perfectly well without getting your period every month, but then nature's early warning system would no longer be in effect. ]
