Well, how do i put this...i've been thinking about getting on birth control, but haven't decided. Two things i want to know is how effective is it? and Do you have skipped periods. If there's any other information on birth control then can you fill me in? Im also 18 years old.

I take it you're considering the pill or the shot. The pill can mess with your cycle but other than that you should be fine. Taken and/or used properly, birth control is between 97 and 99% effective. If you stack forms of birth control, i.e. use the condom and the pill it's as near to impossible to get pregnant as...well as possible. Most people consider that overkill though. Just follow the instructions and all will be well.
