um, well, we are already going out, and you can kinda tell that he likes me, i mean, he can just come up to me and say "i need a hug" and we'll be standing there for the next minute. the problem is that i can't tell if he just likes me as a friend or not, cuz whenever he can hang out with anybody. it's always me. so, that's the thing here. i don't want it to be awkward though.

Usually i would advice people to go for it, they have nothing to loose, but might gain something.
But with you it's different because the hug thing, you know. He might like you a lot as a friend and when you tell him you like him, he might feel like he lost you.
But if he actually likes you, then it would be great.
There is one thing that is confusing me, why didn't he hit on you? any move? or tell you? if he likes you...
So it's confusing really, but you have options.
1. Either take a risk because life without risks isn't worth it.
2. Just be friends until he makes a move.
Because ... Well you see he might like you but afraid to be in a relationship, he might life you but scared and he might life you but not sure completely.
Make your decision wisely and never regret it because of the result.
