Help Lighten Periods

Is there any kind of food that I could eat to help lighten my period?

Hydrating with lots of water,good exercise,eating healthy-especially iron rich foods and potassium,like spinach and red meat.Avoid caffine,excess salt and acohol(if you drink).

Anything high in potassium helps with cramps and bloating, but I'm not sure if it will help to lighten.
Try bananas, I've heard that really helps, though [:
