It seems to me like he is really glad that you're not fighting anymore. He probably is happy that you forgave him for whatever the reason and is glad that he knows you're not going to end the relationship or anything.

it sounds like it would mean something closely along the lines of the weight of you being mad at him and fighting is lifted off his shoulders, and it feels so good tht you too arent fighting. a happy relationship is the greatest gift. sounds about right, hope i helped :)
