Life in general? Confused!

Question Posted Sunday October 12 2008, 10:00 am

i put this under Love Life bcos it was the closest to what i'm asking about!! Basically i'm just really confused with my life right now...i'm only 18 but i'm thinking ahead and worrying about how my life is going to go!! I'm out with my friends most days yet I still feel it's not enough- like i'm not getting enough out of life,!i have never felt like this before and it's really confusing me!! but i have been like this for a couple of months now. i've even started to think about my ex (who I split up with in April, and i don't even like him anymore!) idk i was just wondering if anyone else felt like this? and what can i do to take my mind off it?

I'm actually surprised this is your first time going through this at eighteen. Usually, it gets much worse than this confusion, and often starts at a much younger age.
Mostly everyone else feels like this; you're not alone. It's a phase and it'll pass you, no matter how long it takes. Don't try to avoid it; rather embrace it. Trying to avoid it will make it stronger and things will get out of hand. You have to accept that you are going through a tough time. It's the middle of your life and there's a lot of nothing to do, a lot of upcoming decisions to make. You're going to go back and forth between happy and sad, the ups and downs.
Remember that your happiness is a choice. You thought about your ex because your past is going to continuously effect you and continuously be remembered. Everything will be just fine in time. Keep your head up :)

i understand where your coming from, i feel like that sometimes too. i just try to think about the moment.. whats hhappening right now. it's not good to worry too much about the future. you just have to go with the flow and only worry about the things that YOU are in control of in your life, rather then the things that just.. well.. happen.
i hope this helped, sorry if this wasn't the response you were hoping for but its the best i can do. Try to enjoy your life as much as possible =]

This is very normal. A lot of people worry about the future. I mean it's good to think about your future careers and things like that. Just don't get ahead of yourself. You should enjoy the present while you can. Worry about the future later. To do this you could focus on your friends, your career plans, etc. Just don't get carried away and remember to have fun while you can. Hope this helps. =]
