Question Posted Friday August 29 2008, 8:09 pm

in 2 weeks ill be 18 and i am gonna try to get a credit card .
which credit card companies are the easiest to get it from if your only 18 ?

and can you take cash off of the card , or can you just use it to buy things ?

how long does it normally take to get them in the mail ? i need to use mine for something important right after my birthday but i dont know if they give you a number to type in to use until you get ther eal card in the mail or if i just have to wait ?

PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION,

Don't worry about getting a credit card, you will get offers in the mail after you turn 18, or you can call Capital One VISA etc. and apply they will all offer to extend you credit

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART

by accepting credit, you will get a credit score a score of less than 700 is bad and this will cause you to have high interest payments and be denied a loan if you want one, like when you want to borrow money for college, to buy a car etc. if you take credit make sure you can pay at least the minimums and make sure your payments are NEVER late, a your credit record will be with you from your first card until you die so make sure you take care of it. Employers and others will often check credit reports to see if an applicant is responsible, so make sure you make at least the minimum payments on time every time, being late even once a year will penalize you on your credit report.
