radio

Question Posted Thursday June 12 2008, 12:51 pm

my best friend drives a GMC Envoy, i think it's a 2001. her radio is made to where she can set a low volume, and then as she goes faster, the music gets louder. so as her speed keeps increasing, so does the volume, as long as its not already set to really loud. i was just wondering, is this something thats made into all newer envoys or GMCs, or is it like a program thing that someone bought and put on there to make it do that? if so, what is it?

It comes with most cars that have been built after like 2000. I had a Chevrolet that did that, and now I have a Nissan that does that. It increases the volume to cancel out road noise- the road noise gets louder when you go faster, so when you go faster the volume goes up. It's pretty cool. I think it's called "speed-controlled volume."
