The Wizard of Oz

Question Posted Sunday June 1 2008, 6:05 pm

Does anyone know what time period the Wizard of Oz was supposed to be taking place in? I know that the movie is from 1939, but I'm just wondering what time period it was supposed to be in the movie. I'm doing a video project with some friends, so I was just interested in finding out. Thanks!

uisforukelele answered Sunday June 1 2008, 11:25 pm:
L. Frank Baum wrote the book in the year 1900, so it is set around that time period. The movie doesn't exactly follow the book very well, though- the book is pretty weird.
