I know what exactly you are going through! I have extremely frizzy and curly hair. When it's humid out it's ten times worse! Well what helps me is to just use whatever shampoo I want (except that volumizing stuff!) and use antifrizz conditioner like herbal essence's straight conditioner. Honestly, shampoo don't do crap for me! Conditioner is what makes the difference but as long as the shampoo is packed with moisturizers that's all you need there. So for conditioner just apply it on, wait a few minutes, brush your hair with the conditioner still on, then wait another few minutes, then rinse it out. For frizzy hair it's important that you take good care of it daily. It sucks but that's how my hair is. If after those given steps you don't see results, wait a few more days doing those steps then if still nothing, leave just a little conditioner in your hair and lather it in. Brush your hair and style it like putting it up in a ponytail. If you ever need good hair on a special occasion, go to get your hair straightened. I love how my hair feels when it is. Prices do vary depending where you go, so you should look into that. But I hope I helped out. If I didn't, you can always drop anything in my inbox for me to improve my answer! Good luck! =]

I was born with curly hair too. I use Garnier Fruictis curl and shine shampoo. After combing my hair I put in their leave in Conditioning cream. It moisturizes your hair to keep the curls but without the poof. Not sure on hairstyles. I usually wear mine down or put up in a pony tail.
